IWC Big Pilot's Heritage Watch
Over 75 years ago in 1940, IWC unveiled its large 52 T.S.C calibre observer's watch (Tirette Seconde Centrale) designed for the military. The design and sheer size of the piece inspired the Schaffhausen brand to produce two versions of the Big Pilot's Heritage Watch. The pair come in a 55 or 48mm sandblasted titanium case fuelled by a manual wind movement: the XXL model has a 98300 calibre and the supercharged 59215 calibre provides a 192-hour power reserve on the "small" version. The black dial on this limited edition (1000 available) features markers (minute track, Arabic hour numerals, triangular marker at 12) in beige Super-LumiNova?. Unlike its big brother, it also features the date and power reserve indicator in addition to the hours and minutes in the centre tracked by blue propeller-shaped hands and the small seconds at 6. Submariner vs GMT BLNR
Buying in the next few days. My AD surprisingly has a BLNR in stock and getting the submariner I ordered a few days later. I'm leaning toward the sub because of the glide lock. But also curious how the GMT stacks up with water. Is has the trip lock crown? What pressure is it rated to? What other thoughts do you guys have? Any info appreciated. Could a circa 2003 timepiece still be synthetic "dolmed" sapphire?
Hey all you knowledgeable watch buffs out there I need a little help.I LOVE Rolex. I've owned a lot of cheaper watches and was never really a watch or jewelery buff. However I grew up with to much tony soprano and watched goodfellas on repeat. Something about a nice timepiece that lets people know your established financially. I naught my first Rolex datejust brand new from springers jewelers in Nh. Datejust 36 mm Roman numerals black sunburst dial all stainless. Beautiful watch. Since purchasing that watch I will never have a watch on my wrist that isn't Rolex. Now here's. my question, springers ( same ad I baught my first time piece 4 years ago) has a cert-pre owned page with a beautiful datejust serial number : y 302605. Now my question is with this serial number I know the watch to be circa 2003. But how is it a 2003 datejust can still be fitted stock, with synthetic sapphire? The raised dolm? Also should center links on jubilee bracelet from 2003 should I believe be hollow. I can
