Based upon the conclusion I had come to regarding the antiquity of most umbrella designs, I figured it was high time for something better. What I realized is that a simple thing like having a covering from the rain, is a dilemma that our brightest engineers seem to put little effort into. Honestly, the basic umbrella design has to be 250 years old. Other then new materials and some fancy springs, little has changed for 95% of the umbrellas available.In some countries were it rains often, umbrellas are basically disposable goods. Take Japan for instance. While there I noticed that you can get umbrellas just about everywhere you go. They cost about $4.00 each, clearly a price for a disposable good considering everything else there is so expensive. Speedmaster 57' priced too high??
Hey folks,So, I currently own a planet ocean that i've had for 6 years, and want to get a new watch to commemorate me getting my Doctorate and my 30th birthday My family wants to chip in as well. I was leaning towards a rolex milgauss gv, but I recently saw the blue speedmaster 57', and it is gorgeous. In consulting with the last AD I dealt with, the price they were able to give me for the 57' is about $7250. Now, I think it deff is a gorgeous watch with an amazing movement, but it's a little tough for me to think of spending that much on an omega. Perhaps I am not giving the brand it's due, but I always looked at omega as best bang for buck in the 3-6k range. At 7kish i'm in rolex/jlc territory. This however is comparing omega's top movement to rolex or JLC simpler movements (maybe not so much for JLC). Anyway, am I wrong in thinking this way. Is the speed master 57' if had for around 7k considered a good deal for the watch in comparison to the brands available at that price.
