Top 10 Space-Themed Watches
Be it space or spaceship, the watches below are some of the coolest modern watches which honor or make actual use of elements far from the Earth. Imaginative watchmakers use meteorite dials or design their cases and movements to look like spaceships. We love this stuff and as traditional as watchmaking is, these timepieces are directly inspired by science and science fiction. Oh, and we?aren't?including watches that track the motion of planets or the sky. Those are typically more related to calendar watches, and should be part of a distinct list.Omega Speedmaster Professional Apollo-Soyuz Limited EditionAs a limited edition of 1,975 pieces,?Omega produced the limited edition Omega Speedmaster Professional Apollo-Soyuz version of the Moonwatch in 2010. Celebrating the US + USSR space mission in the mid 1970s, this beautiful version of the Omega Speedmaster Professional has a meteorite face and subdials. Speedmaster accelerated patina
Hi All,I own a Speedmaster from 1974 but do not wear it often.I did not wear it for 4 months. I remember very well when I stored it in the box that the indexes had a nice light cream / beige patina. This morning I decided to wear the Speed and when I took it out of the box, the index color whas...green.Is there an explanation ( lack of light???) for this accelerated color change? All my boxes have silicagel humidity absorbers, even for a handwash I take off my watches, humidity or water cannot be the cause. The tritium is not dammaged, looks not wrotten, it only changed from cream to appel green.Who can me help understand, can tell me why, knows if an intense sun exposition might reverse the proces or if it will be green forever???Thanks for your expertise.
About to join the Omega family
After 2 years of on/off searching for my first decent watches, I'm about to take the plunge and couldn't be more excited. I'm going to be getting 3 watches to 'start' my collection. I have a lot of love for individual watches by other brands (IWC Portuguese 7 Day Reserve is the grail) but for me, Omega is the best bang for your buck in the pre-owned world, if you aren't a stickler for in house movements. They also happen to make a hell of a lot of nice looking watches.I'll be getting this as my 'do it all' watch, will buy on bracelet and get the OEM brown strap/deployant to change it up- it looks sooo nice on that. Have gone back and forth sooo many times on hesalite vs. sapphire, I cannot help but lean towards sapphire. To change up on weekdays, weekend wear:42MM PO with the 2500D movement. Don't care for the ceramic bezel on the new model, and it's too freaking thick and heavy. I wear dress shirts for work, don't want the hassle of it catching on my sleeves routinely. The older PO is
