Watch Shootout: IWC Ingenieur 40mm 3239 vs. Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 8500
Contributed for watches-dealer by Dnes AlbertSince I became addicted to watches around the turn of the millennium I spent a lot of time perusing watch forums and sites dedicated to watch reviews. I picked up a lot of useful, if not expert-grade or properly structured information along the way. One thing I found myself increasingly interested in were in-depth comparisons of watch A vs. watch B. This is not to say that standalone watch reviews don't have their merits or place. They certainly provide a lot of useful information and quite good live pictures of new models, providing potential buyers with generally unbiased opinions. The reason I find comparisons more interesting is that if you are curious about a watch, chances are you already might own a similarly priced/specified model from another manufacturer, thus delivering the information on the other watch in a more meaningful context. So I decided to use my admittedly modest knowledge to give you one such comparison, should you ca
Nautilus 40th Anniversary - Monday is the big day
Looks like Monday could be the big day for the launch of two special Nautilus watches to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Nautilus. My money is on one in stainless steel and one in gold. I am hoping for a perpetual calander model. Let's wait and see.
Got me a new PAM 422
Hey Guys,So after going into an AD about a year and a half ago with my mind set on a complicated Pam in the form of the 270. I discovered it was discontinued and replaced with the 533. While I liked the 533. I didn't love it mainly due to the stealthed out black hands. Anyway I stumbled across the 372 and 422. The 372 while nice was far too simple for my liking. I know it's loved and adored by the paneristi and for good reason but just not for me. The 422 with running seconds and the power reserve is just perfect! I even got past the date and manual wind. Reason being the manual wind forces you to have the ritual of interacting with you timepiece which is quite lovely to experience the butter smooth winding action. Date. Well. How often do you check that and even keep it in sync :pAnyway. Got a great deal from my AD and although I missed out on tax free after trying my luck I am still over the moon with it. No buyers remorse here!Pic time....Now barring a pam689 being in a store I walk

SD4K and SD43 50Th Anniversary Availability
Did a search in the classifieds on TRF!!!Was surprised to see more SD43 50Th listedfor sale than SD4K's... More than 60% listed on the Anniversary model versus the disco'edSD4K... Only a few SD4K's listed for resale... interesting Looks like the SD4K owners are more likely to hold on to it rather than flip... I must say since recently acquiring one myself I find myself admiring it more and more ... Anyone think the hype over the 50Th might be dwindling down?Prices don't reflect this at the moment but the availability on the grey market and resale quantity is certainly abundant... Anywho, just thought it was an interesting comparison to point out in relation to future prospecting and collectibility...What will the future hold for the Sea Dweller, thoughts ?Pics anyone??? We love pics on TRF!!! Here's my SD4K... let's see both 50Th Anniv and SD4K C ...For that matter let's even older SD's for comparison...
