Side-By-Side: Seiko SKX007 + Orient Mako USA
Last week we took a look at the new Orient Mako USA, Orient's reimagining of one of their most popular entry-level divers. At $225, the Mako USAwhich comes updated with some higher-end specsoffers some serious bang-for-your-buck value. The comments section for that review understandably brought up comparisons to the SKX007, Seiko's flagship diver and probably the most iconic affordable dive watch currently on the market. So it got us thinking, does the new and improved Mako rival the venerable SKX007?Now, I'm sure you're thinking that it's not exactly a fair comparison. After all, the SKX007 is considerably cheaper, readily available for approximately $160 (the made in Japan version is considerably more) on either a rubber or a stainless steel bracelet. But if you take into account that an aftermarket bracelet with solid end links tacks on another $60, give or take, then the two watches line up in terms of monetary value. So, for the fun of it, let's compare these two excellent dive

Guys, quick bit of help needed re the colour variations for tropical straps for the 5167 and 5164. Green - made for the 5167 but also fits the 5164 with a slight gapIs the blue that fits the 5164 made for the 5650G or 5168G? Has anyone managed to order one from an AD to put on - 5164. Does it fit on a 5167? Thanks in advance

One watch guy but want to wear something else every couplle of years
So I have a 2016 Explorer that I love. I have this watch since last year Christmas. In the future, let's say a couple of years I like a GMT2. And after that, some years more, a Day-Date. My goal is just to wear a quality wrist watch for the rest of my life, not filling a watch box. Besides that not breaking the bank. Timeline is loosely like this: I am 39 years old now, somewhere at 42 get the GMT2. At 45/47 get the Day-Date.The Day-Date is not a real end-game watch or grail to me (but hey: that President's bracelet ), after that I might get into AP, PP etc.I feel I have no any problem to sell my current watch because it will be replaced by another great watch. No sentimental value or passing it on etc.I like to hear from other one watch guys who have the same game plan or are already on this path.
