Junghans 1972 Chronoscope & Mega Solar
Those on a relative budget wanting a nice sport watch should take a good look at the 1972 collection of timepieces from German brand Junghans. Often known for their atomic clock controlled watches, Junghans has an interesting assortment of both modern and vintage inspired quartz or mechanical watches. The 1972 collection takes direction and inspiration from sport-themed watches made in that era. Though, there is a slick modern edge to the designs which fits the brand's larger collection of timepieces. I do enjoy how they took a classic look and updated it a bit.Junghans is among the few brands that uses many movements derived from Seiko. The 1972 collection currently has three movement options, and I believe that at least two of them are Seiko Japanese quartz calibers. Two of the movements are "Solar" meaning that they use light to recharge the batteries. The 1972 collection watches each have a 43.3mm wide steel case, with a rotating diver's bezel in either steel or black tone. Is there one? I can't handle the lousy Omega website...I'm looking for a mid-level moonphase COSC watch.
New 5235G
New 5235G arrived a few weeks ago. Just picked it up this afternoon as I had to order a longer strap.
Finally snagged one!
I've always loved chronographs, especially the manual wind varieties and when the opportunity presented itself to add a Patek Icon to the collection, I couldn't resist. So far, I'm lovin it as much as I thought I would.
Is this Rolex defective?
Quick question about the screw down crown on a DateJust 41. When I unscrew it it turns counterclockwise. Now when I go to turn it clockwise to wind it the crown kind of pops out a bit more. It does not do this every time. So turning it counterclockwise does not always get it it to the wind position and it jumps out a bit more when I start to wind it. Does it about 35% of the time. This is tough to explain in typing but what I am trying to say is a new watch's crown sticking like this a bit just a matter of it being new? Again it does not do it every time but it is brand new from an AD from earlier today.
