It seems logical that TAG Heuer is associated with Tesla Motors
It seems logical that TAG Heuer is associated with Tesla Motors - although I do not understand why I think that. Success of marketing on behalf of both sides I guess. Collaboration between the marks may continue for some time (probably not going to be like the Ferrari Panerai slandered and now extinct face)- but the first result of consumer is something that I have never seen before.
Introduction - Question re: Vintage 96
Hello all i've lurked here for a number of years - i wish i would have bought some vintage rolexes back in 2013 when i was really actively looking at some and registered here!(currently on a two-year list for a 116500LN)I want to get a vintage patek 96 to dip a toe into the vintage patek game. I know it's small but i actually am enough of hipster-wanna-be to be able to wear it i think. Also with the bigger crown, 18mm strap and vintage nature it clearly looks like just an old watch to me as opposed to something elseAnyone have a 96 and would care to share whether or not they've been happy with it?Thanks!FA
5980/1AR Blue Dial - Some Random Thoughts & Question
I saw a 5980/1AR the other day for the first time. Wow that blue is a bluer and more vibrant blue than the 5711 blue IMO.Seems the /1AR doesn't get a lot of love in many polls I have looked at, at least compared to other Nautiluses. And I am surprised the /1AR blue dial isn't talked about more (I hear so many praises about the 5711 blue). Am I crazy for saying that /1AR dial is one of the best dials and most beautiful blue hues on a watch face I have ever seen? Up there with Platona Ice Blue IMO.The 5711 blue/grey kinda paled in comparison in my eyes, as I looked at the two next to each other in the same light side by side. I also loved the way the watch looked overall and I am not usually into TTs (accept for the Rolex Bluesy).Q: I have never seen a 5980/1A but does it have this same color blue? Just curious, because this is starting to become a watch I want. Photos online just can't seem to do these Nautilus dials justice which is why I ask about the /1A blue.I want a Nautilus (some

Why is there a shortage of SS sports models?
Why is there a shortage of SS sports models? 20 years ago it seemed like every AD had doubles of every SS sports model and was readily offering discounts. Is it that the current typical buyer is more sporty in fashion and taste? As in, the older generation would pick something on a strap or something like a Datejust? It appears to my untrained eye that Rolex isn't meeting demand. Are they disconnected to the economic trends? Perhaps, not too concerned - being a charity?Or, maybe they are shrewder then they appear - letting out SS models at a trickle, further pushing up their brand?
