Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Celebrates 60 years with the Bathyscaphe Men's & Women's
There is something to be said for being the first to start it all. When you think of luxury diving watches, other brands might compete for attention, but the mere mention of the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms is enough to end all discussion on which is the most important diving watch in history. Which other watch can claim to have laid down the blueprint of what we know as the essential aspects of a diving watch? From the depth requirements, the?unidirectional?bezel marking dive time, to the must-have indication of the watch's functioning, these and other?criteria?that have come to define a dive watch would not have come together had two French navy divers been satisfied with the dive watches of their dayIn fact, the Fifty Fathoms from Blancpain has such a long and storied history that if you're a diving watch?enthusiast, the basic facts should be familiar to you. Omega Chrono Repair Costs?
I am still trying to proceed with the resurection of my Mark II. Out of curiosity I contacted Omega for a service estimate and was directed to a web site regarding what they do and the cost. What they do:.omegawatches/customer...enance-serviceThe costs schedule: .sguscustomerservice/I was pretty much amazed by the cost of maintaining older watches. Currently I'm getting ready to ship the watch over to MY for full service. I was also wondering how other insured their watches when shipped to my for servicing and conditioning. Any input would be useful. Thanks!!!
Sutter's Chicago: no longer "Rolex Authorized Service Center"
This would seem to be a pretty recent change, but I went today and saw a change of signage. Now says Rolex Watch Specialists. I called Rolex in New York, to enquire, and was told that they were still a great place to have a watch fixed, but that it was no longer affiliated with Rolex. I asked about whether Rolex would essentially pick up the service warranty, since there was no connection between Sutters and Rolex related to any future services, and it was implied they would (but with the strong caveat that they could not definitively tell me that without seeing the watch, and confirming that any issue was related to the previous service). So, anyone with issues related to a previous service should probably keep this in mind. I'm sending mine to Rolex for its current issue (even if I'm told that the current issue wouldn't be covered by the service warranty and I'll have to pay for it).
Opinions wanted
I have two Daytonas. A 116500ln as well as a 116520 both white dial. I find myself not wearing either much but know the demand for both of them. I am having a really tough time getting the 116519LN out of my mind. Obviously a whole other price bracket. Would anyone here be willing to trade both Of those in towards an unworn 116519ln? Or is that just crazy ? I don't have any PM pieces . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
