just bought a 2534.50...need info.
Hello everyoneI am very excited to announce that I just bought a pre-loved Seamaster GMT 50th Anniversary model.I am very pleased with my luck in finding one in great condition and in my choice :)Will share pics in a few days when I have some time.I would like to know more about the watch as there are some things I cannot explain about the watch:1. it does not have the speedy bracelet but the bond one and yet doesnt have either the speedy or the bond clasp, but a diffrent clasp altogether.why is that so and is taht so on any other models seamasters too?2. what is the significance of the '50 years' marking at the back? was a limited edition but then it doesnt have alimited edition number at the back or was a limited production model? if it was only a limited prodduction model, could you help me with when it was generally made aqnd for how long was this model made?thank you in advance for your kind help :)regards,Asad
Rose gold watch with platinum wedding band?
Anyone on here wear this combo? I am considering a couple of pateks, the 5127 and 5146. On both of these, I prefer the look of the rose gold to the white gold, particularly the dial-case contrast. I think the rose gold looks funny with my platinum band, however, and I don't want to swap out the band.Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Some new AD procedures
So... I went into an AD, knowing how they never have any Professional models available. And I bought a Sub Date (they had two in stock), because those are never in stock. 5% discount, European price w/o VAT (6400ish).Anyway, some TRF-confirmed facts.a) No more stickers. They now rip off stickers when receiving the pieces. Everything on display must be w/o stickers, same with pieces they hold.b) Professional models are registered with Rolex. Buyer name, address etc are registered at Rolex SA before selling the piece. Rolex sends a 6 digit confirmation code to confirm the warranty has been registered.Apparently your open papers watches aren't warrantied anymore (card must match name in Rolex database for first owner).c) Clearly they really are chasing down on the gray market stuff, it took me half an hour to get everything sorted (and don't forget, I've bought a few hundred new watches from AD's, I know how to play this game). So, something really is changing.
My favourite watch.
I'm very lucky to have some wonderful watches in my collection but the Noir is my favourite. So glad I found it.
