A trip to Geneva with the World on my wrist...
Greetings guys hope you are all having a great weekend. Just wanted to share a few snaps of my recent trip to Geneva with my 5131R strapped on the wrist where it belongs in the cockpit crossing time zones. Had a fews guys asking for shots so here you go.. You will notice I changed the strap of my 5131R to lighter shade of brown which I think works well as it enhances the World enamel dial more...Also had the pleasure of meeting fellow TRF member Karl as a VIP pax on my flight returning home from his adventures in Geneva.. Hope you enjoy the snaps !!!
Dress watch battle
Any Advice on relative merits/demerits especially cost/resale of following dress watches: Patek 5296 vs Grand Lange 1 vs VC patrimony tradionnelle I am looking for entry level dress watch from high end luxury makers,is that a good short list? Thanks!
Thinking about a 16613
I'm leaning towards the one with the sunburst blue dial. Not sure that I care too much about box and papers. I'd be buying the watch to wear, not as an investment. I'm more concerned about authenticity and condition. Also, I've never that a watch that large on my wrist so I'm wondering how it will fit/look. Finally, I'm a schlubby guy, not flashy at all. I have a Datejust TT that I don't feel conspicuous wearing. I'm concerned the TT Submariner will be too flashy for me, but darn I like the look of it.
Accidentally continued pulling out crown
My Rolex Submariner Date had used up its power reserve after not being used for 36-40 hours. Hence, the second, minute and hour hands were not moving. I opened the crown to adjust the time. Since the hands were not moving, I did not immediately notice that the crown was already pulled out to the outermost position for setting the time. Unfortunately, I continued to pull for a few seconds before realizing that the crown was already in the outermost position. Should I perhaps bring it to RSC to make sure there was no damage done from the pulling? Or is it safe to assume that if the crown is not wobbly or loose now, that it has not been needlessly dislodged?Thank you in advance for your advices.
