Patrizzi & Co. Geneva Auction Brings Over $6.2 Million
In the month leading up to the Patrizzi & Co. auction on October 25, more than 3,500 people visited the house’s web site each day to research items included in the sale. On sale day in Geneva, about 60 bidders were present in the auction room and another 45 participated online. 70% of the 253 lots were sold in two sessions, achieving CHF6,345,600 or about $6,230,525. Bidders from Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the USA were present in the auction room. The top selling brands were Patek Philippe, Cartier, Rolex, and Panerai. Modern pieces from Ulysse Nardin and TAG Heuer also sold very well. Commenting on the sale results, Osvaldo Patrizzi said Today we have seen a change take place in the market. There was a huge amount of enthusiasm in the auction room and this manifest itself in excellent results C evidently confidence is beginning to return. The Patek Philippe Ref. 1463 pictured below brought CHF275,000 or about $269,950. This is a stainless steel, anti-magnetic, water
Awesome trip to Switzerland/Tour of AP
Hi All, I wanted to share my experience from my recent trip to Switzerland with everyone and recommend if you have a chance to go, it is definitely a worthwhile trip for the WIS. I have a couple of additional threads on visiting Patek and AP but thought I would start a new one. This is extremely pic heavy so will post in several segments as I believe there is a limit to the number of pics I can post each time. This covers several days in Geneva, Zurich, back to Geneva, Le Brassus, and Le Locle. Day 1 (Geneva):I traveled from Paris to Geneva by train. That was a very pleasant ride in the morning. I would definitely recommend riding in first class. For not a lot more, you get breakfast and much more comfortable seats. It was also not crowded at all so I could move around the coach to get the best seat. Did a little sightseeing around Geneva/Lake Geneva and could already tell this was going to be an exciting trip.

Refound lost love
The title says it all For already a few months I was wearing only my Rolexes, Having been away for 15 days my watches, except BLNR, were on the safe at the bank. When I came back I only got after 1 month 2 watches, my 233K and my sub C, so it was 1,5 months without wearing a Pam.Don't know why when I got it back I didn't like it, seemed way too big and ridiculous, was even ready until today to sell the 233, but 2 hours ago, wearing the 233 since yesterday night, it struck me::: this watch is way too cool, what was wrong with me to want to sell it????So it seems I'm back in the Pam Game
Advice on how to deal with this service story
Nov 15/17 took my 36mm datejust in to an ex AD to have it sent off to Rolex for service. Dec 16, got a call from the ( ex dealer) that Rolex service center had received the watch and decided a dial and crown service were needed. I OK'd the repairs. 5 weeks Jan 25, later the ex dealer called to say that Rolex required payment to send the watch back. Total $1950 and the watch would be shipped back to them in two days as Rolex sends everything 2nd day. Payment was made on Jan 25, still no watch as of Feb1. Called ex dealer and got this response: Rolex serviced the watch and it should be back Feb 7th. WTF!This little journey has stopped my interest in a Daytona, or Rolex period. Any opinions as to how much is Rolex and how much the ex dealer in this scenario? First time I have ever had a problem with servicing....
