An Hour With Jean-Claude Biver Of Hublot On Watches, Business, And Being A Hippie
Jean-Claude Biver is a living legend in the watch industry. If you are someone in the industry you either admire him, are jealous of him, or perhaps dislike him. Nevertheless you know him and know he is important. One thing most people can say about Biver is that he speaks loudly, passionately, and often exaggerates a bit (though I don't think he believes that). At least when he is talking about one of his brands - which has been Hublot?for the last decade or so.So here is a rare opportunity to hear Jean-Claude Biver speak with an uncommon personal tone and honesty. He talks about his youth, his hippie years (yes!), starting in the watch industry under some crazy people and doing things he didn't want to do, and how he used his own passion and ideas to create a lot of new things. In a sense, the over-an-hour-long talk is a dissertation on his life in the watch industry, how he thinks, and what you can learn from him. It is easy to listen to and really interesting. While the presentation
Blogging For Self Promotion
Blogging basically started as a way share your digital diary with..., well anyone. The concept seemed a bit "trendy" at first. One of those, "using the power of the internet" to allow the lay person to distribute their ideas. The fear was that legions of untalented, bad writers would flood the net with uninteresting, or at least unedited written spew.We now know that blogging is here to stay, and while it may not always be called blogging, the idea of the individual commenting on, or discussing various topics is a new force, which is reckoned with. It is also a new responsibility. Many opinionated people may feel the pressure to blog or else face a lack of listeners. Political pundits, actors, and others actively use blogging as means of promoting themselves and their campaigns or products. It is the trend of bringing the marketing process back to the simple written entry. So the question is whether it works. If you have something to say, will blogging get your ideas out there? Like eve

Buying used Panerai watch..
Found a mint condition panerai I want. The seller is an authorized panerai dealer in US. They said the watch was originally sold by them as new, but I guess the original purchaser sold back to the dealer? The watch comes with triple boxes and papers. Serial numbers match between what's on the box, booklet, and watchSince this watch has solid caseback, I cannot see the movement. I asked the dealer to provide pictures of movement but they said they don't have tools to open the case. Also I asked them to provide an authenticity certificate, but they couldn't. They said I can't return it. So I am unsure if I should go ahead with the deal or not. What do you folks think? Should I go for the deal?
