Alain Silberstein Tourbillon Black Storm Watch Available On James List
Are you ready for a watch like this? Is anyone ever really ready for a watch like this? Among his many watches, Alain Silberstein offers some tourbillon models. Less popular today, a few years ago these iconoclastic tourbillon timepieces really offered something very different. Take this Black Storm model (ref. TS511) that combines his playful French design, an interesting tourbillon movement, and urban toned camouflage. The idea is really when you get to a watch like a tourbillon reason loses a lot of meaning. Art is what makes sense and here Alain Silberstein is having fun (like he always does). Not everyone is a fan of his aesthetic - that is OK. I believe design aesthetics such as his are meant to be polarizing. In the Black Storm watch is a manually wound tourbillon based movement that I believe are exclusive to his pieces. He doesn't make the movements, but no one else has them. The tourbillon is a flying tourbillon, and done in a manner that I find interesting. The lower part of t
New World Timers Baselword 2016
In light of the fact that the current 5130 versions will be run out models this year what can we expect as replacements? I for one can't wait to see what will appear on the new faces maybe sun maybe moon maybe combination or how about an ss version to really stir things up - can't wait to see them.
Patek Service?
Could anyone recomend a decent place to get a few Pateks serviced. I live up in Maine and I found a guy in NH that works on them, has anyone heard or used Carignan Watch Company? Thanks
So what is next?
I repressed my Panerai obsession to long. At one point I had four and went down to two, now back to 3 thinking about 4.233, 424, 449, 249, 372 (if I had the wrist). I kinda want a date, but all the date models are autos and thick (i.e. 388). I like them thinner. I know the older 424 had a date, but Cali and date doesn't catch my eye.
I will NEVER buy a Rolex.......
.....or so I thought. This is my first post to the forum as I just joined. I started collecting Omega watches about four years ago. I was always one to say I would never buy a Rolex. Rolex is worn by everyone. Rolex is too expensive. Rolex is overrated. So about a week ago I bought my first Rolex. For some reason I developed an infatuation with the submariner over the past six months. I was clearly wrong over the past four years about Rolex. It is impossible for me to overstate how much I love this 114060. I am big on NATO straps but this watch's bracelet is so comfortable I refuse to use a NATO for now.Long story short...... wow I am I impressed with this watch. There is clearly a reason why this is considered so iconic. I am not going to down the road of which watch I love the most, but the new submariner is really something. This will not be the last Rolex I buy.
