Breitling Launches Navitimer Caliber 01 Limited Edition
Breitling’s iconic Navitimer – a favorite among pilots and collectors alike – will be available next spring in a limited edition powered by the brand’s in-house, chronometer-certified chronograph Caliber B01. The series will include 2000 pieces in steel and 200 in 18k red gold, both available on strap or bracelet. Prices appear below, along with an image of the watch you can enlarge to wallpaper size. The Navitimer was launched in the mid-1950s as a watch designed specifically for pilots. It bore the logo of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) and became the group’s official timepiece. The circular slide-rule bezel allows pilots to make critical calculations such as fuel consumption, distance traveled, and rate of climb/descent. A “Cosmonaut” version of the Navitimer accompanied Scott Carpenter on Aurora 7 in 1962, making it the first wrist chronograph in space. The new limited edition Navitimer Caliber 01 is distinguished by its s
Arrival!
The other day I asked for some opinions on whether I should let 2 Rolexes go and pick up my first AP. I had already made my mind up bur just needed some reassurance from you enablers out there that I wouldn't regret my decision. Just picked this up from FedEx a little while ago. I must be having some beginner's AP luck too since I was able to track down the much sought after bracelet over the weekend.
Need a Steel Band for my PO
Hi all, I've been posting in the Rolex area but have started to wear my 45mm PO again. It has a rubber strap but now I am thinking of getting the factory metal bracelet. Does anyone know of an AD or reputable dealer that I can get one from at a more reasonable price? Last I checked it was about $500 from a local AD so I didn't bite.Thank you.
Did I make the right decision on my first Rolex?
I recently set out on my journey to find my first Rolex. For the last few years (I'm 27) I've owned 2 fashion watches that had a great deal of meaning to me (college graduation, first big boy job) but ultimately, they're just fashion watches. I'll cherish them for what they represent to me forever, but I needed a real watch.I set out on my journey, and evaluated most of the Rolex lineup. I crossed off a few:- Submariner (too big, not fitting to a nice suit)- Air King (too entry-level, I want a nice timeless piece)- Datejust/DJ II (again, a nice starter for most, but I like something with a bit more 'pop')- Yachtmaster (too big/chunky/busy, not fitting to a nice suit)- GMT (see: submariner)- See dweller (At this point, I realized I wasn't fond of the thicker sport bezels)Now that I'm done offending nearly everyone, I landed on two that stuck out to me:Daytona. I'm a car geek, and will be acquiring a Ferrari 458 Italia in the next few months. I really liked the yellow face to match Ferra
A Question On Crystal Service Replacements
Hello learned Rolex colleagues,Crystal replacement in a Rolex service is usually a routine procedure. I was wondering if the replacement crystal now has AR coating over the cyclops lens like the modern configuration? Thanks in advance.
