How One Guy Made A Shockingly Good Urwerk UR-202 Watch Homage
Meet Karel, a young engineering student from San Ramon, California.?Fueled by his love for horology and?the more unusual timepieces of the 21st century, he quickly grew fond of Urwerk and their unique?ways of displaying time. In fact, he liked them so much, that he set out to harness his studies as an engineering student and?design and craft his very own homage to his favorite?high-end?watch brand C and today, he shares his experience and achievement with us...It all started roughly 2 years ago, when I first set my eyes on a few of Urwerk's timepieces. Their watches were unlike anything I had ever seen: to me, they were modern day pioneers of the watchmaking industry. One thing that really fascinated me about these pieces was that they feature incredible advancements in horology, while seamlessly meshing these mechanisms in a very aesthetically pleasing way. It is not uncommon to see a watch that is packed full of incredible engineering feats, while the rest of the design seems to be a
Prometheus Signatura Day/Date: Something New, Something Different
If you were to ask me to summarize the watches made by Prometheus as of last week I would have said "a line of sport and tool watches for divers and sport watch enthusiasts." And I think that would have been a legitimate generalization of the Portuguese brand's offerings. They are known for serious, hard-as-nails contemporary dive watches (and one pilot), such as the Ocean Diver GMT ?(a design favorite around w&w) and the Manta Ray, which are both big no fuss watches with real diving credibility and surprisingly good looks. Well, they went and turned that summary on its head with the release of the Signatura Day/Date line of dress watches, which are not only gorgeous, but a fair deal at $530 considering their looks and features.Case: Stainless SteelMovement: Selitta SW220Dial: Black or White EnamelLens: Flat Sapphire with A/R coatingCase Back: Sapphire DisplayStrap: Steel BraceletWater Res.: 50mDimensions: 42mmThickness: 10.9mmLug Width: NAThe Signatura line is clearly inspired by
Which watch would a guy want?
I am not very familiar with Breitling, but my significant other is a watch nut. Since this is our first Valentines' day I was thinking of buying him one. Any suggestions as to THE ONE you would really like to receive from your lady?
Got this idea from Fr John, thanks!
After some self enabling thru lookin at the pics of Fr John's Carribean 22558000, I score one myself, new in box, from a brick and mortar shop. However I can never get the original bracelet to fit properly, it is either too loose with half link more or tight without that half link, to the extent the diver extension can self activate.I earlier ordered an off-market mesh for my PO2500 but since the original PO bracelet fitted so weel, I left her alone.I saw some of Fr John's pics of his 2255 on mesh and thought I properly can give it a try. Now my 2255 fits slightly better and I think she has this retro look with that mesh on!
SMP, blue or black?
Hi, I am planning to buy an Omega, SMP co-axial is one of my favorites. I have some questions and need your advice ^^ I can't decide Black or Blue SMP. Black: I like this color more, it can be casual or formal. Blue: This color is more classic, an icon color. But Blue seems casual, not as versatile as Black. Questions are: 1. Whether James Bond ever wear Black SMP? Or Bond only wears Blue? 2. The bracelet of SMP is without fine adjustment. Would this bracelet fit your wrist without any difficulties, by using the half link? A few SMP owners are complaining about the bracelets are either too loose or too tight, even using the half link. 3. Which color your suggest? I tend to choose Black, but I also think Blue is good. :P Sorry for so many questions. For your reference, I attach a pic as above. The left two are what I am considering. It is borrowed. I am quite headache about these two colors. I really need your advice. ^^
