Citizen Astrodea Stargazing Watch Collection
It takes the right type of person to enjoy the Citizen Astrodea watch collection. Your typical watch lover or nerd might not get it. You might need to built-in celestial appreciation or a career in astronomy to get giddy about a star map on your wrist. I am not really any of these of these types, but I still find a lot of fascination in this watch. I am also not going to explain all the functions of the watches (as there are two main versions). One is a fancy star chart, while the other is one of the most comprehensive moon phase watches out there. Lets look at the celestial version first. Basically, the entire dial spins (slowly of course, in 'real time'). Based on this movement you can tell a lot of things. These include what you can expect to see in the sky given the time of the year, including distances of stars and planet and astronomic occasions.?? Oh, and while there are many versions of the steel watches out there (such as blue or cream colored dials and some with gold plating)
Uniform Wares 250 Series
The 250 line from Uniform Wares marks an interesting new direction for the brand. While still being a very unique and contemporary take on the wristwatch, the influence of mid-century watch design is more apparent in the company’s new design. According to Uniform Wares "the 250 series pays homage to post WWII gentleman's wrist watches" which is clearly visible in the body style, military-esque beveled chapter ring and applied hour markers (previous models from the brand had only printed faces). The 39mm x 8mm body is on the large size for a mid-century watch, but on the small size for a contemporary piece, placing it in that very comfortable to wear range. Certainly, the bold but minimal face designs will still give the watch substantial amount of wrist presence. The 250 is available in three versions, an all stainless model with varying finishes, stainless markers and a deep reddish brown strap. A matte gunmetal PVD model with warm grey markers and hands and a matte khaki leather
HODINKEE Events: View The 2011 Harry Winston Basel Collection In NYCIncluding Opus Eleven
Click to view inviteHarry Winston had a really strong showing at Basel this year, and we're not even talking about the undisputed star of the show, the Opus Eleven.? You can tell the brand is paying a lot of attention to timepieces, and as CEO Frdric de Narp said in his presentation to us, it's amazing to see what Harry Winston has accomplished in only 20 years of watchmaking. The Harry Winston 2011 collection is expansive, and while the Opus is surely the focal point, the rest of the pieces are rather refined, and supremely elegant.? We'll be highlighting a few of them over the coming weeks, but in the mean time, we would like to invite you to view the entire collection in New York City. The full Harry Winston collection will be on display on Wednesday April 27 and Thursday April 28 at the HW boutique on 5th ave from 10am-6pm both days. If you are interested in coming in to see it, send a note to RSVP@HarryWinston and let them know when you'll be there.? We promise you, you won't want

Resources For Patek Swag?
...besides the obvious solicitation of the AD where I am financially prohibited from spending hundreds of thousands of dollars!I love the (not shiny) brown accessories I have seen on the 'bay (wallets, notepads, etc.). The prices seem okay (I'd love to pay less!) but many of the pieces I like are from a seller in Romania (I'm in the U.S.). Where else can I find such little treasures besides the 'bay and the AD?
