Omega Planet Ocean Liquidmetal vs Rolex Submariner, what holds better value?
My first post on this great forum. So much good quality info and help from experienced owners it is just incredible!I have been wanting to buy a Sub for some time now, but when I saw the PO Liquidmetal must say that my heart crossed to Omega. The only question I have for more experienced watch people is related to the potential resale price of PO LM in the future.Rolexes are well known for holding the best value over time. Omegas not so much, from what I could see the standard PO's loose upto 50% of value in 2 years time. As I dont like wasting my money too much I discarded Omega easily.But what I dont know is how will the Limited Edition factor of PO Liquidmetal influence the resale price? In theory limited eds should loose less value in time, but on the other hand it is not as limited as the word may imply with 2000 pieces to be produced. 5164 v 5524
Hello all,I do not own any Pateks but am currently looking to add my first. I am eyeing either the 5164 steel or 5524. All things considered which would you add personally and which do you think would fit my collection the best?A brief background. I travel very frequently for business and I really like how simple and easy the gmt function is to use on the pateks. I am not a huge nautilus fan so I am not considering that at this time. I own a Rolex 16710 GMT which was my first watch I purchased but only wore it for a couple of months after learning of the 3186 movement. Now it just sits in my safe, I will likely sell this watch in the future, potentially to fund for 5524 if I go this route.I know to buy what you like, but I have to ask everyone's opinion on future value. As I am not a millionaire I am very conscious on what I do spend my money on. Whatever I buy, I am planning to keep forever but in the off chance I do need to get rid of it which do you think has the higher chance

Patek discounts?
Just curious as to what kind of a discount one can usually expect on a Patek? I have heard their margins are higher than Rolex, does that mean a higher discount typically? Of course, I know a few of their models are impossible to get, I'm just referring to easy to buy off the floor models.

Rolex monitor grey market?
There have been some interesting threads here recently about 'flipping' and subsequent consequences (for AD and staff). I'm just curious - do you think Rolex SA or AD's monitor sales threads, or use other means to 'follow' recently sold watches? In the absence of a warranty claim its hard to imagine how they could.... I'd be interested in peoples views......
