New strap for my Speedmaster
How do you guys like this new strap? Gold alligator with polished buckle from Camille Fournet, Paris. Looks like a high quality strap, easy to install.
1964 Pie Pan Constellation pics
Hi !Iam a new member and mentioned in the new member section that I also own a 1964 Constellation and was asked to post a couple of pictures of it.So here goes :-)I should note that the watch today is fitted with a dark brown croco original (new) Omega strap with a vintage Omega buckle - I just havent gotten around to take a new set of pictures of it yet.
production number per category ( a sensible calculation)
Quit ofter do some of us ask how many ref XXX or ref YYY are made per year. The answer is that we don't know but we can try to make an educated guess. One thing we know is that Patek makes about 50.000 watches per year and that the biggest part , a bit over 30% I once read in an interview with Mr Stern, are the Twenty-4 for womanSimple watches like the Calatrava are for sure the second biggest groupSo this is a calculation I made, feel free to argueTwenty-4 ( a bit more than 30%) so let's assume about 17.000 piecesCalatrava (more or less 20%) 11.000 watchesGondolo 5000Nautilus , my guess 4000 per year ( to make is simple 1000 per complication so 1000 chrono's in all materials, 1000 simple 5711 in all materials, 1000 5712 and 1000 annual calendars)Annual calendar ( all references all materials) 3500Worldtime ( all references) 3500Chronographs 2400 in total ( ref 5960 in all materials about 1200, 5170 about 700 and 5270 about 500)Golden Elipse ( not very popular) also 1000 in all sizes
Want a 1450 Top Hat for big 5-0
I have a few more years to go, but I would love to have a 1450/Top Hat for my 50th. I am just starting to research, and I see there is a gold, rose gold, and platinum one. I presume they originally came on leather straps, but I know I would not wear a leather band watch as much as I would one on a metal (gold) bracelet.Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!
Aquanaut....all dressed up!
Good morning all here at TRF! Since buying my Aquanaut 5167 about a year ago, it has been on my wrist almost every day. As much as I love the piece, every so often I just need a change. So, recently I had the opportunity to purchase the stainless steel band that accompanies the Aquanaut. I have always enjoyed the look and, most of all, comfort that the Patek tropical strap provides. My one issue was that I wear a suit & tie almost every day and the rubber look just made the Aquanaut feel a little out of place with the rest of the wardrobe. So I thought, why not try it with the SS bracelet! So, here it is! I must say I absolutely love it! It changes the look from casual to a little more elegant while still keeping to its sporty nature, but now very well suited to be worn with anything from jeans and a t-shirt to a suit and tie. I tip my hat to Patek on the construction of the bracelet. Normally bracelets can pull those little hairs on your wrist and make some noise as the l
