Auction Watch: Antiquorum's ONLY WATCH 2011 Is Almost Here
The following timepiece auction analysis post is by Chris Meisenzahl. He is a long-time watch enthusiast and daily Speedmaster Pro wearer. He blogs at The Pretense of Knowledge and can be followed on Twitter at twitterwatches-dealer/speedmaster.It's just about that time again, for the 2011 Only Watch Auction. The auction, managed by Antiquorum, bills itself as: "40 Of The World's Greatest Watchmakers Together For Research On Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy." When they say " World's Greatest Watchmakers" that's not just hyperbole (as is too often present in the superlative watch industry). This is the real-deal. The Only Watch Auction really is a who's who of the finest brands (e.g. Audemars Piguet, De Bethune, Glashütte Original, MB&F, Patek Philippe, and many more). The auction and the timepieces are too involved to run every year, so the charity event is held every other year, dating back to 2005. I can't seem to even discover what position on the market of Maurice Lacroix has currently.
I can't seem to even discover what position on the market of Maurice Lacroix has currently. The brand has a range of models, some very high range, some entry level luxury. Many of their models seem to fill the lack I a single, but still conservative style Swiss mechanical watch "nest."
Hands-On: With The Glashtte Original Senator Chronometer Regulator (Live Pics & Pricing)
Earlier this year I had the pleasure of visiting Glashütte Original's manufacture in Saxony, and I was impressed with what I saw. This watch is a perfect example of what makes Glashütte Original a brand to watch. Released at Baselworld 2013, the Senator Chronometer Regulator is a modern take on the regulator longcase clocks that Glashütte was known for in the nineteenth century and both the dial and movement are worth taking a closer look at. 2 OF 14 The Glashtte Original Senator Chronometer Regulator On The Wrist Starting with Glashütte Original's 42mm Senator case (in either red or white gold), the Chronometer Regulator is big enough to make the regulator layout highly legible while still sitting nicely on the wrist. Much bigger and the watch would feel clunky, smaller and it would be difficult to read at a glance. Also, at 12.47mm thick, the watch feels properly proportioned, neither thick nor thin. 3 OF 14 Closer Look At T
Discrepancy on how the Date is written in warranty booklet
I have seen several variations on how the date is written when you purchase the watch. Some have it as DAY/MONTH/YEAR while others are MONTH/DAY/YEAR and some where it's JUNE/DAY/YEAR.Is there a correct version? Wouldn't you need consistency with the dates across the board for warranty registration?
Poll 116610/114060 owners (If new slimmer Sub C, are you selling?)
Onwers of a the 116610 and 114060 If Rolex does announces a slimmed (lug size) Suc C for Basal, will you be selling your maxi case?
