Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Grand Feu Watch Hands-On
When I first laid eyes on the new Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Grand Feu only one question formed in my mind - Does it come with a tuxedo? I'm going to need a tux to pull that off. With a dial of super heated Gran Feu enamel, JLC has found a clever way of adding some visual flare to a very delicate and minimal dress watch design. With a 39mm wide 18k white gold case, the Grand Feu is right in the sweet spot for a proper dress watch and, at just 5 mm thick, it's not going to snag on anything but the tightest of cuffs. The dial is simple, elegant, and beautifully legible with dauphine hands and a subtle inscription of "Email Grand Feu" between the seven and eight markers ("email" is French for enamel). An excellent example of an under-the-radar luxury timepiece, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Grand Feu is the sort of watch that will get the attention of a true enthusiast or Jaeger collector. As if the Master Ultra Thin line was not impressive enough (being one of the thinnest
First Omega in Space - finally
Back in 2006, I was able to obtain a set of original NOS CK 2998 hands and a friend gave me a cal 861 movement. The plan was to assemble my second project watch which was to be a commemorative of Wally Schirra's Mercury-Atlas 8 flight.I even designed a special case back but unlike the Omega design (which isn't that bad), I used the flight patch logo of Sigma 7 in the center with this wording around the edge: THE FIRST - SPEEDMASTER - IN SPACE - SCHIRRA - MERCURY-ATLAS 8 - OCT. 3, 1962.Here is a photo of the first attempt to fabricate the back:Circumstances precluded completion of my project but I am more than pleased with Omega's upcoming release. I have already placed my order.Fr. John?

5227r vs Lange 1
Hey guys,Tried both these on today, 5227 was the most instant hit, however am conscious of it being very $$ for what it is.Enjoyed the case finishing on the lange 1 and movement finishing.Dial not so much.Collection includes. 5167a116710Thoughts?Sent from my SM-N920I using Tapatalk
Finally the 5167a is mine
Yesterday I became the proud owner of this wonderful watch. I have owned Rolexes over the years and currently have the SD4k and SS Daytona. Both great pieces, but I always found myself looking at the Patek forum and pictures/threads of the 5167a and 5711 in particular and I have always been drawn to the Aquanaut- preferring it due to its tropical strap and more understated, casual/sporty look. I tried one on a year ago at a Patek event and loved it, but didn't get one at that stage as I was concerned about the 'durability' in terms of scratches etc that I thought might be an issue for me as I like my watches as mint as possible (bit OCD). However I have never been able to get the 5167 out of my mind and more recently been feeling the SD and Daytona a bit on the flash side (I went into a shop the other day and the young salesman called out - is that a Rolex your wearing Sir?). Having been to London recently and seeing so many Rolexes, I found myself more attracted to the understated, un
