PVD Application To Spruce Up A Watch
This article was contributed by Marco at Matt Baily, a Canadian watch retailer. My thanks to him. See the article below:Perhaps your collection has reached its threshold but you still want to add to it, or maybe you want to find a watch that is unique without having to participate in the Only Watch auction this month. A solution to both these dilemmas is becoming more and more popular. Using one of several processes, you can change the color of your favorite watches to create brand new styles.Although many treatments and colors are available, PVD is most often used to blacken watches. Physical vapor deposit (PVD) applies a thin layer of metallic particles to the watch surface to achieve the color change. The New Seiko Mechanical Line (SARB027, SARB029, SARB030) From WatchReport.com
The past few years have seen steady growth in the diameter of men's watches. In the 1950s, a dress watch was expected to be slim and small, the normal size being somewhere between 32 and 35mm wide. These days, anything less than 38mm is considered dainty, and even 50mm and beyond isn't unheard of.However, not everyone wants such a large watch, or for that matter, the bold styling that often accompanies it. These more traditional men seem to be the target market for Seiko's recently introduced line of four mechanical dress watches, all with classic styling and very conservative 36mm cases. They are based on the new 23-jewel 6R15B movement with both hand-winding and hacking, and are known as the Seiko Mechanical line.Click on the above text for the full article at WatchReportwatches-dealer.
