Vacheron Constantin is known for producing some of the world’s thinnest timepieces, and for 2010 they are introducing two new wristwatches in the Historiques collection that confirm the brand’s expertise in the arena of the ultra-thin. The Historique Ultra-fine 1955 measures only 4.1mm thick, making it the world’s thinnest mechanical hand-wound watch. The Historique Ultra-fine 1968 is a square, ultra-thin automatic. The 36mm 1955 is presented in 4N 18k pink gold. Though an homage to the past, the 1955 is a modern design with 30 meter water resistance, a sapphire display back, and a titanium casing circle to improve the rigidity of this wisp for the wrist. Beneath the opaline silver-colored gold dial lies caliber 1003, which at a mere 1.64mm is the world’s thinnest. So Miss Whatshername usually wears my Breit. She seems to like it and I think it looks sexy as hell on her. Omega case, Heuer dial and Lemania movement I'm so confused...
Greetings to the Omega experts...I just came into possession of this Marlboro World Championship racing two register chronograph with unknown manufacturer or any discoverable history. The watch is quite striking and appears to be in unworn overall condition.The more I research this watch the more confused I get. What I think I know thus far is that the watch houses a Lemania 5012 movement which is a derivative of the 5100 without the 24 hour sub dial, has a classic Heuer dial configuration and color and is housed in a case consistent with the very large and bulky Omega stainless steel casesfrom the mid 1970's.What I know for sure is that this two register chronograph is massive in size and weight and commands a very impressive wrist presence (wrist shot attached) and overall high quality look, feel and functionality as it keeps excellent time and the chrono functions work quite well.Lastly, I have researched the relationship between Marlboro Racing (F1) and Swiss watches and Heuer come
