Richard Mille Introduces Another New Material to Watchmaking
Richard Mille has long been known for using unusual and often unprecedented materials in its timepieces, many drawn from the worlds of automobiles and aeronautics. Now the brand has announced another horological world-first a case made of NTPT (North Thin Ply Technology) carbon, to be used in a new version of the brand’s RM011 Flyback Chronograph watch.Richard Mille has reached into the world of nautical technology for its newest material. NTPT carbon was originally developed for the sails of racing yachts. Sails manufactured from it are highly resistant and light, and have been used in vessels that won regattas. The composite material, which is composed of multiple layers of parallel filaments obtained by dividing carbon fibers, has also been used for Formula 1 car chassis for the last two racing seasons, and in aeronautics for the fuselage of the future Solar Impulse 2 aircraft. The surface of NTPT carbon displays a distinctive undulating pattern, similar to a wood grain, form
Need help from experts
Good friend of mine works at a jewelry shop and just got this watch back from breitling service. I know this is a cosmonaute but thats all i know. This is the only pic he sent to my phone. He said $3500 for the price. What year do you think its from ? what the value of this watch ? Are the chronograph dials gold? What long term value am I looking at ?Im a noob to breitling and this would make my second. got a superocean 44 about 3 months ago.
PP box?
Came across this online. Trying to figure out which model it's from. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Gold hands
I never quite understood the appeal of gold hands in a steel cased Panerai until yesterday. WOW! In the right light, they REALLY GLOW / STAND OUT against the dial. It even seems to enhance legibility (although that's not much of an issue on a big faced Panerai watch). Mesmerizing. Anyone have pics of what I'm talking about?
Men still wear Datejust two tone 36mm in 2016
I am new to the forum. However, I've owned Rolex watches for 10 years now, and have always googled and read the posts on this forum. I have the following question. How many men still wear a Datejust two tone 36mm in 2016? I have a 16233 two tone Datejust and absolutely love the watch. I've worn it with suits, tuxedo, khaki pants and oxfords, polo's & jeans and I make it work for all occasions. I was thinking about trading it or selling it for the Datejust ii, but hate to part with it. I own a SS Daytona, and an Explorer ll 42mm, I hardly ever wear the explorer because it feels too big.
