Tough and Transparent: Richard Mille Tourbillon RM 56-02 Sapphire

I see lots of 81950 model 1980s Chronomats online but I am having trouble finding info on models that say 81950 A on the back. I cannot seem to find good info on the pre-1991 models. Any ideas what the A means?
