Baselworld 2015: Bremont Jaguar MKI and Jaguar MKII (Updated with Live Photos)
At Baselworld 2015, Bremont unveils two new watches designed in partnership with Jaguar. Calling upon the watch and car brands' shared British heritage, the new Bremont Jaguar MKI and Jaguar MKII have features reminiscent of the classic Jaguar E-Type from the 1960s.The MKI and MKII are extensions from a six-piece limited edition that Bremont made last summer. Jaguar produced six handmade continuation E-Types, built to the specifications of the Lightweight E-Type of 1964. Bremont's special pieces were made as a complement to those cars. The new watches will not be produced in a limited edition and are intended to be more affordable: whereas the limited-edition Lightweight watch was made of white gold and aluminum, the MKI and MKII are cased in stainless steel. The major Jaguar features are visible on the dials of the MKI (small seconds) and the MKII (chronograph). Both watches were designed in conjunction with Jaguar to echo the car's dashboard. A. Lange & Sohne Germany Visit Trip Update: Winter Watch Wonderland
I am in Germany maybe 10 minutes and the signs of watch insanity are in my face. On my 4 hour layover in Munich to Dresden I am surprised to see that Munich's domestic terminal is basically one big watch store. There is a huge open watch store in the middle with tons of rare brands, and those that you don't even see in America at all, such as Certina and Union Glashutte. There is certainly an air of haute horology already. The first picture is of a magazine and gift store display. They actually highlight their collection of watch magazines! This is just too much good stuff, and I am on my way to being prepared for A. Lange & Sohne's upcoming spectacular display.I spent most of my first day in Glashutte where A. Lange & Sohne is headquartered visiting their factory and seeing some new watches (as well as existing watches). There is so much to admire in this brand in each place I look. Regardless of the snow falling outside, I was warm and excited as I entered each new room of th
I had the same concern
New to AP having owned many Rolex and a few Panerai. Picked up a new Diver 15710 a week or so ago. Craftsmanship is outstanding. I am in love in every way except one. This watch is a constant 5-10 seconds (closer to 10) fast per day. Mind you I am not in the least bit OCD about my watches timekeeping but this guy is noticeably fast. Not to compare, but every Rolex I ever owned was spot on right out of the box and still so years later. My questions are: 1. Is this simply the nature of the beast? I see many complaints about this.2. Is there a break in period where I might expect the watch to adjust?3. Is there anything I can do to try to cause the watch to adjust?4. Should I send my new beauty to Clearwater for longer than I have owned it?Any expert help would be appreciated. Thanks
Difficult to wind my Patek 5119j
I am finding that the manual winding is a little tight. The same is true of my Omega Speedmaster. Is that just how it is? I bought the Patek in February, it is new to me, but I have had manual winds before and it feels tight even at first.I will say it keeps time fine.
Production numbers for the 5165A?
Hey,I was just wondering, does anybody have an educated guess of approximately how many Patek 5165 were produced during its very short production run?I've seen a lot of misinformation about this watch, such as the numbers do not have luminous like the 5167 And the dial is flat black, not somewhat iridescent like the 5167 (both not true). I think people just haven't seen enough of them.I know most people like the 40mm 5167 better, and I respect that- but for me, the 5165 is the perfect size and I prefer the updated look of the 5165 over the old 5065 (which I also love). So, any guesses?
