Hands-On: The Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 Days PAM 662 And Luminor 1950 PAM 663
Panerai doesn’t leave me indifferent. But I feel different about Panerai every time I have one on. One moment I get why the Paneristi are so devoted to the brand and why the subtle differences between each model make them so exciting. The next I wonder if the manufacture isn't running out of ideas. But the new PAM 662 and PAM 663 clearly show they haven’t. 1 OF 8 The reason in this case is their lovely tobacco-brown dials, and the history behind them. It’s a color Panerai would’ve hated seeing when they began making watches with Rolex in the 1930s. Their brass dials were black and meant to stay that way.To their dismay, the Florentine house would soon find out their patented radium-based powder (Radiomir), which so successfully lumed the hands and indexes of their diving instruments, would later turn them brown. That’s exactly what happened to one of its most famous watches, reference 6154. Opinions for experienced AP folks needed
Hi All,I have the opportunity of purchasing a NOS AP Safari (old model of course, with rubber pushers) or the AP 26320 ROC in SS with a SS bracelet. The price difference is about 3K with the Safari being cheaper.Any advice from the forum?Specifically, I'm not sure how the rubber pushers stand up to wear and tear, as opposed to the new ceramic?your help is greatly appreciated.thanks again.

Rolex aint kidding when they claim...
tighter spec than COSC with -2/+2. For my past watches with 31XX generation movement, timekeeping over certain days deviate average of 0-2 seconds which is superb compared to rest of the brand but daily deviation around 3-4 seconds sometimes depending on rest position and power reserve. The newer movement (at least for the Sky D), is consistently 0 Sec deviation EVERY day for past 2 months, regardless of resting position. What sorcery is this??
Cellini line development - Worldtimer Regulator style
Cellini line is slow seller i think, even after pretty nice new references after Basel -17. I wonder why Rolex does not add more complications to Cellini lineup? If there would be annual calendar, or regulator style with worldtimer... that would turn at least my eyes away from Patek
