Audemars Piguet 2009 Corporate Watch Making Film
Ignore the first 30-60 seconds of this film, it gets really cool after that. I love watching stuff like this because it actually does a very good job at showing you how watches are made at houses like Audemars Piguet. Yes, you need to know what to look for, but pay attention to the tools and techniques used to polish and decorate the movements. This process literally takes up most of the time in watch movement assembly. While the film is supposed to take place in the 19th century (even though some of the stuff looks really modern), the same process is used today to make high-end luxury watch movements. Take the hand-spun machine that spins the movement plate around, today it is just done with machines but that are more often than not still controlled by a human operator. There are no automatic decoration or finishing processes for this level of watch making - just good ol' manual processes to give it that unique human touch.Enough of my intro, check the clip of this "corporate movie" a
RO 15400OR with strap on 6.5 inch wrist
Hi all,I've seen many posts about 15400st on 6.5 but not much on the 15400OR with strap. Anyone with 6.5 wrist try it on? How'd it fit? Any better than the bracelet? Thanks!
New arrival of a old daytona 116520
I am fortunate to find a used 116520 fullset with a reasonable price. I am trying to find the early year of black 116520 due to the following: 1.thin hands,2.the sub-dial rings are actually thinner than the newer model as well to fit the thin hands like 16520,3.more like a grey color less reflective sub dial rings instead of the colorful one in later 116520,4.the silver hour markers are more flat and not as reflective as the newer models, 5.the words and minute markers are super bold and serif, this makes a big contrast to the black dial. Overall makes this early 2003 more old school. My rolex daytona 116520 by T C, 於 FlickrMy rolex daytona 116520 by T C, 於 FlickrHere is my collection so far My watch collection by T C, 於 FlickrThanks for the looking.
114060 and 116710BLNR combo?
Thinking about doing the 114060 and 116710BLNR combo...what y'all think?!I actually like the GMT better. Yeah, I know...I'm crazy, weird, and yeah I'm serious. I'm currently living overseas and all my friends and family are in the states, and I travel moderately, so the GMT is a no brainer. I do like the 116710LN, but as a daily wear...I don't like the polished center. Plus, I want to wear it to work. Not saying I don't like the sub, but it's the next best thing...in my eyes. If the 116710LN was in SS, I would get that one. So, what you think about the 114060 and 116710BLNR combo?
One idea...
One idea: Would not it be interesting if Rolex Forums had a section that would be called Face to Face for the private people that the same city can buy and sell watches with total peace of mind? They could charge a fee for each advertisement and that would help with the expenses that cause to maintain a Forum and of this quality that should be one or the most important in the world. In these days I have read so many opinions on how to be sure that they will not cheat us when buying, selling, sending, insurance, etc ... which for example in my case made me desist from publishing a notice of sale of my watch I would like to read opinions of my friends from the Forum ..
