Review: Techne GosHawk (Ref. 411)
Previously on worn&wound we've discussed those watches or watch brands that manage to achieve superb design and quality in a surprisingly / unbelievably affordable price point.? Think Steinhart with their $400, ETA powered pieces, or the $200 Maratac Pilot with a quality automatic and sapphire crystal the size of your head. ?Having spent some time with the $338?Techn GosHawk (and previously Sparrowhawk) I am beginning to think that Techn deserves a place in that conversation.?The GosHawk pairs unique aviator styling and excellent craftsmanship with a quality Japanese automatic movement and superior components.Case: Bead Blasted Stainless SteelMovement: Miyota 8217 AutomaticDial: BlackLume: C3Lens: Sapphire with AR coatingStrap: “Saddle” Oiled LeatherWater Res.: 50mDimensions: 41.4mm x 48.7mmThickness: 12.5mmLug Width: 20mmCrown: Screw downWarranty: 1 YearCaseThe case of the GosHawk is simple and clean, matching an aesthetic seen throughout the watch. Vintage omega seamaster chrono
Hey guys, Came across a beautiful cushion case seamaster from the 70s at my local vintage dealer. Was wondering if you guys thought $1200 was a fair price for it. Dial has been refinished but seems as though they did a great job and it has a 861 movement. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1358988394.159267.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1358988407.687661.jpgThanks in advance!
Timeless.....
Some watches are timeless: unaware of popular trends and unaffected by the passage of time. This is one of those watches.Ref. 3970, many times overshadowed by its cousins 2499 and 5970, is arguably Patek's quintessential perpetual calendar chronograph. Earlier this week I was fortunate to acquire a dream watch a 3970 (second series - the connoisseurs PCC some may say) in unworn condition. Many thanks to good friends M, J, G and other members here. I am over the moon!Classy to the extreme and incredibly wearable....Details, details, details...Thanks TRF!
