IBG 2014: Highlight Watches from 3 Boutique Watch Brands
WatchTime’s 2014 “Inside Basel.Geneva” event tour wraps up this week in San Francisco (October 2). West coach watch aficionados who attend this final IBG show of the year will have the opportunity to see and try on many new watches, including several standout models from respected indie watch brands F.P. Journe, Greubel Forsey and Parmigiani Fleurier.Watchmaker and brand founder Francois-Paul Journe created the F.P. Journe Chronomtre Optimum to be “the essence of precision.” The watch, available in 40-mm and 42-mm cases in platinum or 18k rose gold, brings together, for the first time in a single timepiece, a number of notable inventions in its solid gold movement. Bring a Loupe: Vintage Chronographs And Dive Watches From Universal Geneve, Breitling, Lip, And Others
This week is dedicated to the new releases of Baselworld, but never fear, Bring A Loupe is here for your weekly dose of some of the most interesting vintage watches out there. This week, we will focus on chronographs, starting with a sumptuous Universal Geneve from the mid 1940s. We will also feature a couple of surprising dive watches, from an obscure Lip to a famous modern Blancpain Aqua Lung. Finally, you will find one Tudor Monte Carlo that you should not bid on. This is your Bring A Loupe for March 18, 2016. A Breitling Top Time Reference 7656 C A Large Reverse Panda 1 OF 8 Breitling introduced the Top Time line in the mid-1960s to appeal to a younger market; as a result those watches featured more playful dials than their tool-watch counterparts, including the Navitimer. This Top Time reference 7656 offers the same great reverse panda dial that can be found throughout the Top Time range. A late edition, it comes in a rare 42 mm case, versus 38 mm for the earl
Audemars Piguet Team Alinghi watch
any thoughts of the new AP Team Alinghi watch?supposedly coming out this summer.forged carbon is used for the bezel and casing.
Patek 5960/1a (steel)
Just wondering what most people's thoughts are on this piece. The majority of the opinions I've read so far have been mostly negative but I wonder how many have actually seen it in the flesh (I haven't). I'm strangely drawn to it, especially the dial. I also respect the work that must go into the bracelet and polishing of the overall piece.Opinions?
