Devon Tread 1 Exoskeleton Watch
One of the new Devon watches for 2013 to be presented at Baselworld will be this Exoskeleton version of the Tread 1 (reviewed here). This will be Devon's highest-end watch to-date. While the core electro-mechanical movement from the Tread 1 remains more or less the same, and the overall design is certainly "Tread 1", this piece is a different beast altogether. For one thing Devon is thinking about making it in precious materials such as 18k white or rose gold. More importantly, it will be highly "skeletonized."Devon will likely use the same "ballistic polycarbonate" as the crystal for the many see-through elements of the watch. The plates over the time-telling treads are also new. One of the more interesting new features is that instead of coming on a strap, the Tread 1 Exoskeleton will come on a bracelet - also skeletonized. This is the most T1000 Terminator-worthy Devon watch to-date. It just needs glowing red parts. Skynet would be proud.Specific details and pricing will need to wai
Time For A Classic: Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Duo Watch
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso is one of the most classic watches out there still being made today. Easily up there in some top 10 list, if one was ever to be established (note to self - work on top 10 classic watches list). Since its creation way back when (maybe the 1930s) it has been an iconic watch for Jaeger-LeCoultre. One of the most simple and classic, but still interesting Reverso models being sold today is the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Duo. The original Reverso watches did not have dual faces. One side was metal to protect the watch during polo matches. When Jaeger-LeCoultre really revived the Reverso watch, they decided to put the other side of the watch to good use, and give the timepiece two faces. As such, you can flip around the watch to get another side. In this instance each side has a different watch face design, each showing its own time. The internal manually wound mechanical movement powers both faces, that each give a different time. My new SMP ceramic
Love the blue colour.
Another My Dads Rolex and Japan RSC inflexibility..
So below is my Dad’s Date that I bought him for his 80th birthday. Had it engraved on the back from me. He passed away three years later and it was passed along back to me.I had it serviced just under 6 years ago at the RSC here in Japan. Quite expensive, complete overhaul and new clasp.Fast forward to today. I finally decided to change the white Arabic dial to blue Arabic. 42,000. Found out the price in a catalogue at an AD. It took me so long to finally decide to change the dial because you know it is my Dad’s watch and I didn’t want the RSC to take the white dial as they often do and not return it. I was assured by my buddy who works at a grey that they won’t take it. So I race down to the RSC today on lunch break with my Dad’s Date.Yes they will replace the white dial for blue and they will return the original white dial. 42,000.So far so good. Then the counter person and then later one of their watch repair people both INSIST that I must have it se
Need Help 116718
I took my 116718 out of my watch box tonight. It had been sleeping for about 2 weeks I wound it upSet the time and date And it ran for about 2 hours before I noticed the hour hand was no longer moving. With the crown out to position 2 the hour hand spins freely It does not click hour to hour like it's supposed to do. With the crown out to position 3 The hour hand will move about two hours and stick while the minute hand moves freely. I've hacked the movement but I don't know what I'm up against. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated 2013 Purchased from AD. I'm the only owner. Thanks in advance T
