Black & Blue Fighters: The Kobold Phantom Tactical & Sinn 203 Arktis Watches
Please don't make me choose one of the two. Both are highly desirable to me. Are you really going to make them fight for my affection? I wonder who would win. Here you have two Valjoux 7750 automatic movement based watches from American and Germany, though the movements are Swiss. The Kobold Phantom is the epitome of the tactical black watch. Housed in PVD coated steel, the large and rugged watch is the very apex of its genre. Being features on such shows as "24," and having a fond place on the wrists of professionally active people all over, the market is rich for these highly demand watches. Quality is top-notch for a tool watch, that does happen to look good. Like the Sinn, Kobold watches are tested for reliability and accuracy in a ton of harsh conditions including high heat, severe cold, deep depths, magnetic fields, and oppressive shock. The Kobold Phantom is but one a line of quality instrument watches that have become the hot-ticket item for many buyers. The retail price of the K
The Beauty that is Breitling
Hello AllJust wanted to share a few photos of my new Breitling Navitimer 01 Limited Edition watch I just picked up today. I love the new larger size (43mm) and transparent case back. Check out the nice font the date has! With their new in house movement, increased size and its good looks, I think Beitling has done everything right with this one! Also, since it is a Limited Edition, I feel very fortunate to have one.Enjoy the photos.Drew
Tools for resizing bracelet
So.. I got a new Omega Speedy Pro last night.I got it via mail ( I know , not quite the AD experience , but for a few hundred $ saving its okay me). Now I am trying to take a link out on either side - I could wait till Monday and go to a shop , but you know how it is... I want to wear it NOW.So are there any objects around the house that I could use to knock the pin out without scratching anything ( I have the hammer , looking for something to hit with the hammer). Tried a needle - too narrow and flimsy, tried a nail , just just too thick although that would, I think, work if it was the right sizeAny suggestions for a DIY job ??Thanks upfrontGreg
First Grand Complication! Ref. 5140P
Much has been written on TRF and other forums about this reference. Among things I've seen discussed have been the following:It's too big. It's too small. The dial is too busy. It's too hard to read. The 27 and 5 on the date subdial has a different font. Not much love for the blue dialEtc.Well, as a proud second owner of this gorgeous 5140P, allow me to share my thoughts by responding to each of the above niggles point by point. At 38mm, I find the case size perfect. Maybe it's not for everybody's wrist, but for mine, it's perfect! The dial is extremely readable, which says a lot because my eyesight is terrible. Its readability is especially amazing when you consider how much info this perpetual calendar packs into such a compact space. The sleek profile of the 240 Q really makes the watch. I love the calibre.Regarding the fonts. The different size numbers that Patek uses to make the dates easy-to-see while at the same time making room for 3 and 9 o'clock subdials is purposeful, it
What was wrong with the DSB?
Out of interest what was wrong with the deep sea blue to warrant the change? I'm guessing from what I've read over the last 2 days it's the bracelet?Maybe I've been hiding under a rock but I'd never heard of issues with his before now. I've had mine a couple of years and it wears great. As with many things it wouldn't surprise me in 12 months time if everyone's saying I preferred the old one'.
