Beware, 'The Beast' on C24
I have been looking on c24 for a AP ROO 'the Beast' ie with the original blue dial...Saw this at a good price, looked nice at first glance on the mobile -then I spotted it, can you?.chrono24.se/audemarspigue...-id4155377.htmWatch itself might be kosher but when you put an AP back like that you are not an official AP watchmaker....
It's finally here.
My very first AP diver.😍😍😍 ImageUploadedByTapatalk1437663925.271398.jpg
Used PP Question - Disparity in Date of Sale
Hi folks, quick question for you. I recently acquired a 5196 in good condition from a reputable seller. There is a discrepancy in the date of original sale - listing stated 2012 but is actually 2009. The watch has never been serviced and appears to be running fine.I understand there are many variables to the equation - but all else equal, what would an appropriate way to handle this - i.e. what type of adjustment should I ask for? I would expect this has an impact on resale value (particularly near term) and also 3 years closer to requiring a service. How would you guys handle / what is fair?
Pam 88 over weekend
I'll post pics later, but for years I've been told not to like panerai. The Watch Snob columns and others around the net bemoan in-house movements vs eta... faked history, and so on. I visited a rolex AD intent on buying a blnr gmt rolex and the blnr just didn't do it for me. The salesguy said I should consider panerai, or asked if i would. I scoffed a bit but noticed a gmt panerai. I had been to this AD before and always walked past panerai without a glance, straight to the rolex cases. I spied the pam 88, but didn't know it was an 88, 111, 123, or 123456 model.. I held it, loved it, then looked at 5 other pams... i wasn't supposed to like, much less LOVE panerai. But i do, and did. I loved the strap, layout, dial, and cosc certification. . Furthermore, a watchmaker/customer happened by and commented how easy an eta or valjoux movement is to service. I adored the pam 88 and it wore far better on my wrist than the sub c or gmt. I bought the pam 88 and am now a lifelong pam fan. Funny
