Piaget Emperador Coussin XL 700P (Updated with Live Photos and Price)
It has become known among educated watch enthusiasts that Piaget makes its mechanical movements in-house. What is less known is that Piaget is one of the very few Swiss watch brands that also makes its own quartz movements in-house as well. The brand paid tribute to this dual technical heritage at SIHH 2016 with the Piaget Emperador Coussin XL 700P, a “concept” watch (it will be produced and sold) that combines a mechanical caliber with a quartz-driven regulator.Limited to 118 pieces, the Piaget Emperador Coussin XL 700P, and its ultra-thin, generator-regulated mechanical movement, Caliber 700P, commemorates the 40th anniversary of Piaget’s very first in-house quartz movement, Caliber 7P, which debuted in 1976. Firmly ensconced in Piaget’s Black Tie collection of elegant men’s dress watches, it features the familiar Emperador cushion-shaped case, measuring a stately 46.5 mm in diameter and made of white gold with a black ALDC-coated gold bezel. The “
Ebel Classic Sport Chronograph
Ebel introduces a new member of the Classic Sport collection: a 41mm chronograph that will be available with straps in khaki, beige, brown, coral pink and navy blue. Khaki is the first in the series to be issued, and the center seconds hand picks up the color as well. The movement is a Swiss-made quartz Ebel 503. Introducing The Brand New A. Lange & S?hne Lange 1, With New In-House Caliber (Live Pics, Full Specs, & Pricing)
This is one of the quietest new releases of SIHH, but arguably one of our favorites. There is a brand new Lange 1. Most people didn't really pick up on it because aesthetically, the new Lange 1 looks just like the old Lange 1 (with two slight, slight differences I'll get into). But in fact, the watch you see here has an entirely brand new, built from the ground-up, in-house caliber that offers some subtle but meaningful upgrades. Let's get into it. 2 OF 6 The caliber inside the Lange 1 was among Lange's first ever developed, meaning it has been a quarter century since the design of this caliber began. The men and women of Glashtte felt it was time, though no one asked for it, to give its most iconic model an internal upgrade. So, beginning with this model year, the Lange 1 will house caliber L121.1, the 50th new caliber since its re-birth two decades ago. Lange is quick to point out that the goals and aesthetics of this new caliber are indeed the same as the original, th
New Planet Ocean 8500 Liquid Metal Titanium
I debated whether I should get the Planet Ocean 8500 Liquid Metal Titanium since I already had a regular Planet Ocean 8500 but I couldn't resist any longer. I had to have it and I think it's different enough for sure now that I have both. The blue is an awesome shade and it changes hue in different lighting. I got both the rubber strap and the bracelet just like I did with my other 8500 to change things up. I am a big Rolex fan but the PO 8500 at 45.5 MM is perfect for my nearly 8 wrist. Add the 8500 movement with clear case back and if you buy grey market like I do, you have an awesome watch for an awesome price. Super satisfied with these Planet Oceans.
