SIHH Preview: Girard-Perregaux 1966 Small Second
The Girard-Perregaux 1966 collection reflects the brand's ability to produce pure watchmaking classics. The latest addition in this line, the 1966 Small Second, embodies the essence of a refined timepiece right down to the smallest details. This piece is at once modern and timeless. The 40mm round case strikes a balance between the petite dress watches of yesterday and the larger pieces that are the fashion today.Girard-Perregaux says the design is largely inspired by the manufacture’s 19th century pocket watches. For this reason, Grand Feu enamel was the only choice for the dial, as it offers a firm historical connection, singular depth, and unique a character. Elegant painted Arabic numerals and blued steel leaf-shaped hour and minute hands compliment the artisanal dial. This model is powered by a new automatic movement, developed from the Girard-Perregaux caliber 3300, which offers a small second display that is just slightly offset to balance the design. Stuck Springbar Removing Link
Hello everyone, I don't know if any of you gentlemen have encountered this problem. I'm trying to size a friend's Ap 15400, I don't think this guy has cleaned it since he got it, when I cleaned it with veraet, black gunk came off the watch onto my brush, multiple times after rinsing the brush and watch. So I'm assuming there is gunk built up in the springbars not allowing me to get them loose and size it for him. I'm worried about scratching up the teeth on the bar, any ideas on how to get the bars loose so I can size it?
My Grandfathers business card....
I come from a short line watch enthusiasts. My great grandfather and grandfather were both watchmakers, which I knew. I also knew that my grandfather had a work history with Omega as well as as Tourneau. I recently found one of his old business cards in pristine condition. On the business card were logos for AP, Omega, and Tissot. After some research, I learned that the company he was with at the time, Norman M. Morris Corp (my guess is the 1960s?) was responsible for bringing AP and Tissot to the US. I've attached a copy of bis business card. Just something that I thought was cool and wanted to share
Fluco Horween shell cordovan straps from Chronoworld
Has anyone bought one before? I just received mine and, honestly, I'm a little underwhelmed. It looks kinda like plastic to me. And not sure what to make of the INOX on the buckle.Prior to ordering, I did some due diligence on Chronoworld as well as the guy who runs it seem to be pretty well regarded. Maybe it's just that the fine German craftsmanship ain't all that...Why, you may ask, am I posting in the Omega forum? Because it's on my old Seamaster 300 :)
