Nico Gerard Pinnacle Is Mechanical On Top & Apple Watch On The Bottom - For A Massive Price
The Nico Gerard Pinnacle watch that combines a mechanical timepiece with an Apple Watch is probably a good idea, but executed with a price that makes it utterly unrealistic. As we have said here time and again, smart watches are a growing segment, and one that we expect to continue covering for some time. Of course, probably the most anticipated smart watch release this year was the Apple Watch, though sales seem like they might be a bit off. If you find yourself in the camp of wanting an Apple Watch, and still want to wear your traditional mechanical watch, what are you to do? You could certainly wear a watch on each wrist. While that is something I have grown accustomed to, I realize that not everyone may be ready for that. That, then, leaves the option of leaving one of the watches at home, or figuring out how to get both onto a single bracelet. That is what we have here with the Nico Gerard Pinnacle. This is not the first time we have seen an Apple watch combined with a regular watc
Introducing The Blancpain Bathyscaphe Chronograph Flyback AND The New High-Beat Caliber F385 (Which Might Actually Be The Real Story Here)
This year at BaselWorld, Blancpain followed up last year's Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe (HODINKEE "A Week On The Wrist" review here) with a chronograph in a similar form. That's cool and all, but to me the most interesting aspect of this watch is not the available fully ceramic case, or the NATO with ridiculously hardcore hardware, or the general sleekness of the end product. Nay – the most interesting part of this new Bathyscaphe is actually what's inside. This is the first Blancpain to feature the brand new caliber F385, which is a ground-up new concept for them and a fairly impressive new development that doesn't seem to have gotten a lot of attention. That's about to change. 2 OF 24 First, the details of the watch. Sized at 43mm and available in either full ceramic or satin-brushed stainless steel, the chronograph is 300m water resistant and holds on to many of the design traits seen in last year's time-only Bathyscaphe. The dial o
First Perpetual Calendar with 240Q?
Hi all,I've been very interested in getting a PP perpetual calendar for a while now (got very close last year but seller was awful to deal with and put me off!). I've started to develop a small collection of watches with new/innovative movements e.g. Rolex Datejust with 3135, 2001 Daytona with 4130, B01 Navitimer so would be keen to know which PP watch and when was the first to receive the 240Q? Was it a 3940 or something before that?
Joining the Datejust club today...
I cannot believe that I have one. I keep glancing at it! Just need to adjust the bracelet size and then it will go on the wrist for the weekend. Thanks again DavidSW for a super smooth transaction. He makes things happen! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
16710 P Serial Number Rolex Logo Dial HELP
Greetings, I am relatively new to the forum but found the feedback from my first post quite helpful.Last week I did a trade plus cash deal for a new to me, P Serial Number 16710 (no box or papers). The seller is a licensed Jeweler who has been in the secondary watch market for over 30 years and he has a physical location in the French Quarter of New Orleans. I have known him about ten years and sold him several Rolex as well as he purchases (and pays the best in town) for scrap gold and silver. I trust him, but we can all get fooled...with that said, while looking at my new watch under a strong loupe, I found three items that are giving me mild heart palpitations (please see photos):1. The under line on the L in the ROLEX seems to be wavy, like two bumps before it straightens out.2. Same for the under line in in the E in ROLEX.3. A small white smudge of font under the S in GMT MASTER III hope I am not being too nit picky, but this is a reference I have wanted for years and just want to
