New Richard Lange Zero Restart “Referenzuhr”
Lange’s Richard Lange family of timepieces is dedicated to the scientific aspects of horology with a focus on precise timekeeping. With resettable subsidiary seconds, the Richard Lange Referenzuhr carries on a tradition dating to the early 19th century. Actuating the push piece at 2 o’clock instantly resets the seconds hand to zero, where it remains so long as the push piece is depressed, while the movement keeps running. This sleight of hand (pun intended) is achieved via a vertical clutch that reengages when the push piece is released, restarting the seconds hand instantly. This complication facilitates synchronising watches and clocks at different locations: the actuation of the push piece synchronises the seconds hand of the instrument with that of a reference clock exactly when its hand passes the 60-seconds mark ( zero ). Breitling Barnato 42 Midnight Carbon Watch
While I am generally a big fan of Breitling watches, I don't personally like a lot of the Breitling for Bentley timepieces. These have a distinct design ethos apart from the rest of the Breitling range. I like the concept, but many of the pieces have a design that does not speak to me. Having said that, I really like this new limited edition Breitling for Bentley Barnato 42 Midnight Carbon watch with its good size and restrained look compared to its siblings.The largest watches Breitling makes are probably in the Brietling for Bentley collection. If you are familiar with my work then you know I like large watches - but many of those watches are just too big for me. You really need to be one of the world's biggest-wristed men to pull some of those off. This new watch is a more narrow 42mm wide. It will actually wear larger due to the very wide lug structures. Corum Admiral's Cup Watch Line Gets The Black Flag And Black Hull For Piratey Good Times
I've always been a fan of the Corum Admiral's Cup lines of watch, the more modern versions that is. The watch is meant to celebrate the Admiral's Cup yacht race, that you've only heard about if you are known in some circles as "admiral," or are currently wearing deck shoes. The trademark of the watches are the flags that have been used as hour indicators. Oh, and the chronograph seconds hand that was apparently fashioned from a cocktail drink stirrer. Which of course goes with boating.What is really great about the Admiral's Cup watches is the angular cases, large size, and large hands. It is a fine looking watch with nice components. Functions have varied widely from tide graphs to calendars, small seconds, and of course a chronograph. Not sure if they have a regatta timer though, they should.Banking on the success of the design, Corum keeps releasing variations, the most recent of which are pretty large. How does the 5296g fit?
Looking at the sector dial but am concerned with fit. Some have said it is a bit stiff, like a dinner plate or limpet. Does anyone have any fit complaints? I tried on and thought similar, but it was a while ago and can't remember for sure.
