Simply Named Eterna KonTiki Diver Is Amazing And Heralds Eterna's Return To The USA
Good ol' Eterna. I am so happy they are soon to be officially distributed in the US once again. Eterna is not well known, and that is a shame. The company actually started ETA, which makes most of the movements in all Swiss watches. ETA was later sold to the Swatch Group. Eterna also makes all the Porsche Design watches. In my opinion, it is one of the most underrated and unacknowledged brands out there. If their marketing department is paying any attention, that ought to change soon when they re-enter the US market. The first watch to be sold along with their KonTiki Anniversary model, is the "Eterna KonTiki Diver." This watch is actually a few years overdue, having been announced a while ago. For me, this is the best combination of features and elements one could ask for in a modern looking technical dive watch. It is an accurate chronometer, it is easy to read, has a power reserve, and has a nice sophisticated look that does not make you look like you drive a large truck everywhere.
Feeling guilty and can't sleep... Incoming ...
I simply feel guilty, I really had the AP bug and was expecting a Diver after my 15300. I ended up cheating on AP and getting a Blancpain FF instead. I had a weak moment and I ended up purchasing one... without even trying one or seeing one in the flesh. ! Delivery is tomorrow. Let's see if I trade it back in for a Diver or if it will be a new stable mate to my 15300 ;)Let's se how much sleep I can manage to get.
5167 vs 5164 - thicker? heavier?
Hey guys, most threads about the two aquanauts refer to the 5164 being slightly heavier and thicker. Since it's been difficult to find them both out in the wild - does any know how much thicker and heavier? Or is it so small, it's negligent? I know a couple of people on the forum have both - what are your thoughts? Did you get the 5167 as a daily wearer and the 5164 more for business and travel?
111
I have the chance to get a 111 from an AD. I tried one on a year ago when on holiday and was very keen, but memory can play tricks, so would like opinions as its 200 mile drive and they won't hold without a deposit. Any views both good and not so good welcome. Is it realistic to get a discount? Extra straps maybe? Are these easy or hard to come by?Thanks in advance
I think I'm done with Rolex for a while.
I think I've covered all the bases as far as Rolex goes at the moment. Can't see room for a Sub in here, and not massive on the Daytona's (have a Speedmaster instead). The only thing I may find space for is a Datejust further down the line.I have a few other watches as well as these, a Tag, a Bulova, 3 Omega and 1 more Rolex GMT in TT. All the watches are quite sporty. All that's missing is something on a leather/dressy strap. Your suggestions would be appreciated.
