2009 Filled with Awards for A. Lange & S?hne
2009 proved to be a very successful year for A. Lange & S?hne. With a total of 21 international awards, it is in fact the most successful year in the history of the brand, which was re-established in 1990. Since the presentation of the first collection, the timepieces made in Saxony have won more than 130 prizes, including 81 first prizes. The Lange Zeitwerk finished first in the category Complicated Mechanics at the MunichTime fair, which took place from October 30 – November 1. Both the jury and the public selected it as the winner. The new 1815 also won both prizes in the category Classical elegance . At ViennaTime, which took place November 13-15, an expert jury chose the 1815 as the winner in the category Classical Elegance , and the Zeitwerk finished second in the category Intricate Mechanics .Lange was also the first non-Swiss brand to win the L'Aiguille d'Or ( Golden Hand ), the most prominent award of the Swiss watchmaking industry, at the Grand Prix d'Horloge
Longines Column Wheel Chronograph Watch's Day At The Races
It surprised me to learn that Longines has close to 100 years of history with horse racing. In fact, Longines has a lot of history altogether. Like many historic watch brands still alive today, Longines spent much of its life as a watch movement maker run by engineers. This is an interesting point because, according to long-standing Longines CEO Walter von Kanel (who has been at the brand for over 40 years), a major difference between watch brands of today and those of yesterday is who ran the show.He reminds us that watch brands used to revolve around new movements. The engineers would develop a new movement and then design a watch around it. Today, watch brands are more business/marketing minded and design watches around concepts, market needs, etcIn essence, the reverse of what they used to do. This phase-shift in timepiece production makes total sense given that people buy watches for different reasons these days.Knowing that vintage Longines watches that include their own movement

Considering Trading my white 26320. Need input
Considering Trading my white 26320 for a black 26320, panda 26300, panda offshore, or a navy offshore. I am going to Dubai this Sunday and I have contacted a dealer named Luxury Souq (.luxurysouq) which I found on chrono24. I am considering a trade before I realized I would like some more color on my wrist. I have a few questions and I would greatly appreciate any input you guys could provide me.1. Has anybody here ever heard or dealt with Luxury Souq (Dubai UAE)? Are they reputable?2. If the 26300 has an H reference letter, should I be at all concerned about any near future repairs or service?3. Anything at all you would recommend me be aware or cautious of?Many Thanks....Kenny
Which Aqua Terra is the better buy?
I'm looking to purchase a 41.5mm Aqua Terra with blue dial in the near future. There currently are 2 versions that are available. #1:.omegawatches/collecti...23110422103001This is the outgoing model with the brushed bracelet and the framed date window. #2:.omegawatches/collecti...23110422103003This is the new version with the updated movement and higher MSRP of $6000 vs $5500 of the older model. The new version does not have the framed date window and the new bracelet has polished center links. Personally I much prefer the older version, but thinking about resale maybe it is smarter to get the new one with the updated anti-magnetic movement? What do you guys think?
