Glashutte Original Senator Panorama Date Watch
It certainly isn't anything revolutionary, but for 2013 one of the new Glashutte Original watches will be this attractive Senator Panorama Date. A simplified version of the Senator with a basic three-hand movement and big date indicator as part of the Glashutte Original GO 100-03 automatic movement. There is an 18k red gold version on a strap which is nice, but what I like a lot more is the steel version with the bracelet. That straight-forward German styling with the large blued-hands make for a fantastic dress watch. Size is 40mm wide which should satisfy the formal/classic watch segment. While the movement does have a gold automatic rotor, I am hoping that the steel version is priced in the $7,000 range that is both reasonable for the brand and should attract enough attention from newcomers to Glashutte Original. Having said that, a more likely price is double that. More on the Senator Panorama Date after this April. glashuette-originalwatches-dealer #gallery-2 {
Weekend Report: The Opera House Cup In Nantucket With Panerai
This year marked the 10th year of Panerai's sponsorship of the 43rd annual Opera House Cup Regatta in Nantucket. The Opera House Cup Regatta is an annual race for classic wooden yachts that takes place in the waters off Nantucket; it gets its name from the Opera House Restaurant, whose owner, Gwen Gaillard, came up with the idea for the regatta in 1973, after hearing local sailors lament the absence of a regatta for classic wooden-hull yachts. In the subsequent four decades it's evolved to become one of the most spectacular exhibitions of sailing yachts in the world; I had the opportunity to go out and watch the regatta with Panerai and it was truly a sight to behold (see pictures below).This year's regatta featured 55 registered yachts that participated in the Cup. Among the boats were a number of classic yachts of all different sizes. The winner of this year's Opera House Cup was Bapple, a 26' from Alerion, whose skipper, Bruce Failing, took home the p

Urgent: Need advice!
Gang,I'm conflicted. I've been presented with the option on a 5940J. Would you trade three precious metal Rolexes for this application piece? Does Patek 5940J = YG GMTIIc + WG SubC + plat DD2 ???
Can't Decide??
I am torn. I am looking at getting my second Rolex and I can not decide between a Rolex Submariner Date and No Date. I keep getting drawn to the no date because it seems less common but wonder if I will get annoyed having to pull my phone out to check the date ( I sign a lot of documents). I keep heading into my local AD and they do not have either one in stock which make the decision harder as I have not been able to try one on. Thanks for everyones thoughts.
