Parallel Universe: The Commoner APs
From my sock drawer come two APs. Sorry, to disappoint, but they are not Royalty. These are humble commoner AP chronographs. I bought them used (dunno how many previous owners) and I don't even know how old they are. I think they are from the early 90s but maybe they are from the 80s. This is not helpful and I promise to post information if I find an AP guidebook. Why do I have 2 almost identical watches? Because they look understated and I like that--I thought they looked kinda stealthy. And my wrist is too small for an ROO. They have platinum cases around 40 mm in diameter. One has a white dial that is not easy to read because the hands are very skinny and sometimes disappear against the white. The other has a gray dial and is not easy to read for the same reason. I discovered after buying them that the stealth part is in trying to tell the time. Nonetheless I enjoyed wearing them--except the center crown dug into my wrist (I can get used to anything--including a tiny divo
Email for AP clearwater?
Hi guys,I know their Phone nr, bit would rather email since I'm in Finland.I'll soon be in Florida and would like to know what color rubberbands they have in stock for the ROO...?
Chrono Minute Register Creeping Early Normal?
When I run the chrono on my new Speedy, the minute subdial creeps (not jumps or ticks over immediately at the 1min mark) to the 1 minute marker when the chrono seconds hand is at or stopped between 59 and 59.5 seconds, not at the 60 second mark when I would expect it to complete it's advance. The effect being, that if I am timing something with the chrono that takes Xmin and 59.5 seconds, the chrono timer will read X+1min and 59.5 seconds. Seems like a pretty glaring accuracy problem to me - has anyone else seen this? One other small issue is that the hours subdial seems to sit just to the right of the 12 hour marker. I've read this could be common as well. Is this poor quality for a watch at this price point?
Average wait time for s/s Ceramic Pepsi quoted by your local AD
Very interested to hear from forum members as to what you have been quoted by your AD.Fascinated to hear whether the times vary from continent to continent-My AD has undertaken to supply me within twelve months-is this a good lead time?
My first INCOMING in a while....
My first change in the lineup in two years.....Explorer II polar out....DJ41 in.I'm very happy with my new purchase. Supremely comfortable, beautifully balanced, and slightly more dressy than my other watches. It's my first time with a Jubilee bracelet (which only became an option for me because it has an easylink) and I can see why people love them.Happy to say that I bought from my friendly AD. I told them what I could buy for on the grey market, and they matched the price before ordering it in for me. Had the watch two day's later...
