MMT 'Horological Smartwatch' Platform Ties Switzerland To Silicon Valley
Ever since the smartwatch became a thing, I have been preaching that companies need to pool their resources and talents to create something that consumers want. A new type of smartwatch platform called MMT (Manufacture Modules Technologies) was just announced out of partnership between a series of companies both in Switzerland and in Silicon Valley. This isn't a big deal just because it means the small but crowded smartwatch market has a new face, but because, in my opinion, it represents a wise step in the right direction of how the Swiss luxury watch industry needs to integrate itself into the smartwatch world. Welcome to the MMT electronic watch movement family and the Horological Smartwatch.Peter Stas, CEO of Frdrique Constant / Alpina, wearing the Frdrique Constant Horological Smartwatch Reference FC-285V5B4Who is behind MMT? Event Recap: Welcoming Nomos To The United States In NYC
Last night, we at HODINKEE, along with our friends at Wempe Jewelers on Fifth Avenue, welcomed the entire NOMOS Glashutte management team, as well as over 200 watch lovers to a downtown NYC gallery space to celebrate the *official* launch of NOMOS in the United States. Now many of you may be thinking "hey, but NOMOS has been available here and there for over a year!" and that's true. NOMOS has been sold at Wempe, and more recently at Tourneau for a little while now, but last night marked the Glashutte manufacture's official jump to the US. The party kicked off their plans to open dozens of new doors all over the United States. 2 OF 33 Guests were able to see, try on, and play with the entire collection, including the brand new Metro (designed by Mark Braun, who was in the house last night), and Our own Stephen Pulvirent took the stage at one point to say an official welcome to both NOMOS and all our guests. 3 OF 33 Overall, the response to l
Thinking of a 15202
I've had my 15400 with the black dial for about two years now. I also picked up a Daytona over Christmas. I really love the size of Daytona since my wrist is under 6.75 inches, but I've always wanted a blue dial Royal Oak, and the 39mm would be perfect on me (I once had a 15300). I did ask AP about switching the black dial for the blue, and they said no since the blue is a boutique edition. I was planning to sell the 15400 after it comes back from Clearwater for the 3rd year warranty service, which would bring me down to a Rolex 114060 and the Daytona. Now I'm entertaining the idea of selling both the Daytona and 15400 to buy a 15202 instead. That would still leave me with my Sub and the 15202, which I think I'd be happy with.Thoughts?
I wonder where Brad Pitt's $3 Million Patek is
I just remembered that Angelina Jolie bought Brad a $3 Million platinum Patek, originally made for JB Champion, when they got married 2 years ago.Now that they have split, Angelina kind of strikes me as the type of lady that might throw her ex's stuff in a pile and burn it.Heres a link about the watch in case you forgot about it: .dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...ding-gift.html
