Build your own AP ROO??
Seeing all the feedback on the novelties from SIHH and also a lot of the comments in the past, may I recommend to AP (if they read this), the following:I think AP should launch a custom watch configurator system - clients can specify all the materials/combo they want from a standard list; they could charge a decent premium for this - say 25-30% and I am sure there would be good take up. Variables:1. Watch case material2. Bezel material3. Dial style, flat or tapisserie4. Numerals - sticks or numbers5. Dial colour6. Numerals/sticks colour.7. Crown and pusher materials.8. Strap material9. Buckle or deployment.Of course one could go further, but the above would give you almost unlimited combinations, and they would have to set up an AP Bespoke department or similar, charge a premium of course and throw in some bells and whistles along with it, along the lines of creating a ROO VIP club effect. You read it here first!

Speedy Pro - Meteorite dial (Apollo Soyuz)
What is general consensus of the meteorite dial on watches? Are they hard to read? What about the aesthetic appeal of it?I know the Daytona Meteorite dial is popular, what about this Speedy Pro? Do you think it suits?
Great Grandfather's Patek Philippe Calatrava
Hello. I am new this particular watch forum. Over the holidays my parents dug out my grandparents and great-grandparents' watches. Among them was this Patek Philippe Calatrava that belonged to my great-grandfather. My best guess is that he received this as a retirement or milestone anniversary gift from the company he worked for starting in 1922. He passed in 1977 so my best guess is that this dates sometime between 1942 and the late 1960s. I have sent it to PP for restoration and a proper strap but would be very interested in any insights on what model this might be. I just sent it in through an AD less than a week ago so I don't expect to hear anything for at least a month. I imagine it's destined for a long trip to Switzerland for restoration. Thank you.
