Problem with Omega Planet Ocean! What should I do? Swatch Group customer service suck
Here is my story... I began to manually wind my 3 month old Omega PO and I noticed that it felt geary and not smooth when the crown was pulled out. On 10/14 I brought it in to Toureau with a copy of my warranty cards and they sent it in to the Swatch Group for me. Since only the Swatch Group and work on the new Co-Axial movement. After numerous phone calls Tourneau could never give me an answer or give me an update on my watch. Weeks went by... Then on 12/04 Tourneau called me and informed me that the Swatch Group has yet to fix my watch or even look at it be 'cause the date was not filled out by my AD when I purchased the watch. They wanted me to fax them my receipt which I did that same day. I was so pissed that I called the Swatch Group myself and spoke to Shawn about their poor customer service. He informed me (in a condescending manner) that it would be at least another 4-6 weeks before I would get my watch back!!! I currently have Jennifer with Tourneau talking to her regional re
Thoughts on the SD43
I recently had lunch with a friend of mine who was able to obtain an SD43 and he let me try it on. He has a similar sized wrist to me which is approximately 7'. I had never seen the SD43 in the flesh as my local AD always told me the moment they get one it's out the door. In reading a lot of the threads over the past few months concerning the SD43, it seemed that a lot of the focus was about the size and how it wears as well as the weight. Also, a lot of threads positive and negative about the redesign. In wearing the watch (for a limited time), my thoughts are that the SD43 is the most perfectly balanced and shaped modern Rolex. I am used to wearing my one and only 114060 and have to say that the SD43's tapered lugs (which mirrors the style of the 5 digit references) really gives the SD43 perfect balance on the wrist. The 114060 always wore like a 42 mm watch in my mind, which is a product of the Maxi case. The SD 43, although classified as a 43mm watch, wears like a 42mm watch. One of
My wife wants to know......
How many watches do I need?My father gave me my first Rolex (Gold DD36mm) when I graduated from college. He was a New Orleans homicide detective and my mother was a school teacher. I grew up the oldest of four children, so as you can imagine we didn't have much growing up. My parents always did without so that they could put us through private schools. Both of my parents were very big on education.I will never forget when my father pulled me to the side at my graduation party and handed me the box. When I opened it, I was totally blown away. He was very old school and believed every successful man should have a nice watch, pen and a handkerchief in his pocket at all times.I wore the DD for years as my every day watch, but saw the DJ36mm white dial with Roman numerals one day at the local AD. I loved the Roman numerals so I immediately purchased it. I began wearing it as my daily watch and would pull out the DD for special occasions. Being very happy with both watches, I never
Sea Dweller 16600 vs. 116600
I have the 16600 and am thinking of adding a 116600. Anyone have experience with both in terms of how they feel on the wrist, pros/cons, etc.?Thanks.John
Buying a rolex in Switzerland?
Im traveling to Europe next week, and Geneva will be one of my stops. Does anyone have experience buying watches in Switzerland? In the end will buying a watch there save me money or cost about the same as purchasing a watch in the US? I do not absolutely need to buy a watch in Switzerland, I was just wondering if there is any sort of benefit. Can anyone shed some light on the topic?
