Roundup by Kenny YeoIn the fourth edition of our bi-weekly news roundup, we interview Hublot's Jean-Claude Biver; check out George Daniel's co-axial chronograph watch; examine the implications of the new Swiss Made ruling; learn about the finishing technique of beveling and more.1. Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean GMT Watches Hands-OnJust before Baselword 2013, we previewed the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean GoodPlanet GMT watch, which was a special edition watch which would offer a glimpse as to what the regular Planet Ocean GMT watches would look like. Now, however, we have pictures and a video of the rest of the Planet Ocean GMT lineup. Predictably, the new Planet Ocean GMT watches are handsome looking pieces and are built to very high specifications - water resistant to 600m and ceramic bezels with lacquered painted numerals for all models, except the one with the orange bezel, which is aluminum. As Ariel rightly puts it, these new watches are not a revolutionary addition, but as the ol
Hands-On: With The Bell & Ross WWI Monopusher Chronograph Heritage (Live Pics & Pricing)
Bell & Ross might be best known for its square, instrument-inspired watches, but there is a lot more to the brand than just that. Most interesting to HODINKEE are the Vintage WWI and WWII collections, which take styling cues from the early twentieth century but utilize them in ways that will appeal to the modern watch buyer. We first showed you the WWI Monopusher Chronograph Heritage when it debuted last year, but this week we spent some time around New York City with a pair of these vintage chronos and here is is a more in-depth look at this lesser-known Bell & Ross. 2 OF 13 Curved Wire Lugs The Bell & Ross WWI collection is defined by a handful of vintage-inspired details. First off are the angled wire lugs, which are really crucial for comfort with the WWI Monopusher. The case here is thick, at 15mm, though it looks and feels even thicker at first because of the relative simplicity of the watch. I'll admit I was a little scared when I first picked
Navitimer montbrillant
Hi all, I've got a breitling navitimer montbrillant. 46mm, the one with 2 chronograph rings in any event, I don't know much about it, other than is annoying to wind every couple of days, and I'd like to get rid of it, where would be the best place? I took it in on a trade
How early would this very early Omega Constellation be?
Hello there,I recently saw an Omega Constellation reference 2648 calibre 352 in a solid 18k gold case with a very low movement serial number (12280xxx) and case number (11000xxx). Both these numbers are the lowest I have seen on a Connie, and I say this after conducting quite a bit of online research, scouring numerous forums and looking at dozens and dozens of photos of 352 movements.Does anyone here know of a Connie with lower serial numbers? Could this watch be one of the earliest Connies in existence? Thanks in advance!
My first high end watch
Hello.I wanna buy a first high end watch and i think panerai is the one.Firstly i decided going for the PAM 372 but it seems that they now are sapphire instead of poly. The problem about Panerai is that the fakes are well made making it kinda hard to buy a pre-owned that being said i need to go for a new AD buy. Even if it was a hard to fake watch i think i want to buy high end watches new at an AD only. What you guys think about the PAM673 (1000 limited)? Compared to the PAM 372 (poly or sapphire).Should i get the PAM673 if i see it in an AD yet?Im open for any other brand as a first watch. With a limit of (25k dollars). And keeping in mind that i want it to pass by my younger generations.
