Grieb & Benzinger Blue Merit Customized A. Lange & Sohne Tourbillon Pour Le Merite Watch
There are certain things one simply doesn't do with valuable watches. Some of those things include underwater diving with a minute repeater and taking apart and modifying a limited edition early A. Lange & Sohne Tourbillon. However, if you must do the latter, it might as well be done tastefully, and by a fellow German company - which is precisely the situation with the one-of-a-kind Blue Merit watch by Grieb & Benzinger.Typically the boys at Grieb & Benzinger make their luxury project watches out of historical movements such as a 100 year old Patek Philippe minute repeater or split second chronograph. For the Blue Merit they have endeavored to use a much more modern movement taken out of an A. Lange & Sohne Tourbillon Pour le Merite. So yes, a limited edition Tourbillon Pour le Merite watch from the mid 1990s was essentially sacrificed for this Benzinger-esque transformation. Was it worth it?Before & After: A. Navy, Safari or Black Panda
Had a chance to view the new offshores 42mm live at the Singapore boutique and must say generally they are all really nice and its so hard to pick one. Was very keen on the all Grey but seeing this one live was a bit underwhelming very flat monotone even dull. The rose gold piece was gorgeous but it screams look at me! And heavy to wear. Narrowed down to the safari, navy and panda black and red .. Any advise out there? What are your thoughts as a second AP after the 40th anniversary jumbo?

Collecting SD from 1st service
Hello -I'm collecting my 2009 16600 SD from its 1st service tomorrow, from my local AD. This is the first time I've sent any of my Rolex in for service. I'd just like to check please:1. I've been charged ?500 for the service. The AD offered to hold the pre-increase price for me as I took it in just before end-Jan. Can anyone confirm if ?500 is the SD service cost pre-increase?2. What if anything should the watch come with when returned from service? Should it come with green suede pouch / plastic coffin, 2-yr warranty guarantee, and a detailed breakdown of the work carried out? The pouch / coffin would be handy for storage. Thanks all.
