Jean-Claude Biver Steps Down as Hublot CEO; Ricardo Guadalupe Named Successor
Hublot has announced that Jean-Claude Biver stepped down as CEO effective January 1. Hublot Managing Director Ricardo Guadalupe was named Biver’s successor. The transition has been planned for some time and is based on the significant accomplishments Guadalupe and Biver achieved together since 2005, and on the 20-year personal friendship the two men share. Biver will continue to serve Hublot as the company's Chairman of the Board, and he will continue to offer valuable business strategy and product development insights. As the official spokesperson of Hublot, Biver will also coordinate communications activities with the press and collectors, and with the trade and industry.Biver said: There is a time for learning, a time for doing, a time for handing over, and a time for moving on. I've happily made it safe and sound to the hand-over stage. With the gratification of being able to hand over to a friend and colleague of more than twenty years. And happiness at the prospect of rema
Ferragamo F-80 GMT Watch
Ferragamo watches? Another fashion brand with timepiece you'd be wise to be skeptical of at first. When a company that has never made timepieces suddenly starts to do so, then you should be wary. Delving deeper the plot thickens as all Ferragamo watches are licensed to be developed and manufactured by Timex. At this point I would not think that results have much up-market credibility. Though in this case that isn't exactly true. Ferragamo timepieces for men (especially this F-80) collection are nicely made, have good designs and materials, and contains Swiss mechanical movements. As designer watches go, these sort of fly under the radar and deserve a bit more attention.I believe that the F-80 collection debuted in about 2008. It contains a Swiss ETA Valjoux 7750 automatic based chronograph model, and a similar model that has a GMT module over a 7750 (there is also a quartz ETA chronograph version as well). This is that GMT model, and you can see the standard 7750 with the addition of a

5711 vs 5167. Anyone prefer the 5167?
Evening guys.Onto the hunt and I usually like to take my time, see my options, try on the watches a couple of times etc.Now I know I could never justify both the 5711 and 5167 together even if I could afford it.The same shape on the face, same movement, and same complications (time/date).I do love the rubber strap on the 5167 and the sun burst dial that looks like a globe. Also love the smooth bracelet on the 5711 with the beautiful blue dial(which I have yet to try - only tried the 5711 so far and she's a stunner too. I would rather the blue though.). The only advantage IMO on the 5711 is that it works very well dressed down and up. The 5167 imo is better casual and dressed down. The rubber wouldn't look special in a suit.Does anyone prefer the 5167 over the 5711?Which would you pick in this case?
Now what does it mean for the old DEEP-BLUE?
With the release of the new deep blue, what does that mean for the older MK1 version? Will it increase in value being discontinuedOr will it get less interest in light of the newer caliber?
