Zenith El Primero 410 Limited Edition Calendar Chronograph Watch
Hot on the heels of the incredibly cool El Primero Lightweight, Zenith has launched another limited edition El Primero, dubbed the 410 LE. The 410 is based on a very rare vintage El Primero model from the 70's that looked almost identical, save for the original model's smaller 38mm case. You can see an example here, said to be 1 of 25, sold by Christie's in 2012. Sporting a couple of updates, the new El Primero sticks with the vintage formula and offers an homage to a hard-to-find and rather desirable piece from Zenith's past.Based around a 42mm case, the El Primero 410 is a textbook nod to a successful design from the early 70's. On this modern version, the sub dials appear a bit smaller, but that could be attributed to the larger dial. The dial remains a slate grey, with updated hour markers and a cleaner use of dial text. There is a date display between four and five, as well as day and month apertures above the sub dials at three and nine. Joining the calendar, a moon phase display
Zenith Academy Minute Repeater Chronograph Watch
The Academy collection from Zenith is back with more, introducing this new Academy El Primero Minute Repeater Chronograph. This is a very high-end and exclusive version of the Zenith Elite design family which the model lives in. This isn't the first Zenith minute repeater, but they aren't common for the brand. For the right high-end collectors, this could be a very special timepiece.Zenith is mostly known as an in-house movement maker and producer of the famous El Primero family of high beat automatic movements that operate at 5 Hertz (36,000 beats per hour). The El Primero is a base for most of their chronographs and is also the base for a chronograph with a minute repeater in this very uncommon Caliber 4043 El Primero movement that I recall from a rare model back in 2009. The 4043 caliber is back in a much more attractive piece that gives new life to the movement and theme. What I like about the 461 part caliber 4043 movement is its practicality and beauty. It is also a fully integrat
AP ROO 44mm too big??
Looking for my next purchase, is this too big???
Whats the best strap for Breitling Transocean unitime chronograph?
I bought this Breitling preowned last year because I got a steal on it for 6k. However I barely ever wear it and I think it's because the mesh band makes it ugly for me. I am considering getting a black leather Breitling strap for it instead.Any ideas for what kind of strap/band would look great on this?
FOIS has arrived!
FedEx delivered on time. Lots of photos have been posted with lots of info. I hope to impart something different.First, here's the commemorative box:Then opened with plastic in place:And the commemorative plate:The case back:Now some points of interest (at least to me) . . .Mine is numbered 16## which makes me wonder if Omega started with 0001. Somehow I doubt that 1600+ have been produced. More importantly, I put my micrometer to the FOIS and found that the diameter of the caseback and bezel are the same as the standard Speedy Pro. The sapphire halo makes it difficult to accurately measure the diameter of the dial but the measurements from the outside end of the 9:00 marker to the outside end of the 3:00 marker appear to be the same. That makes me think the dial of FOIS would fit the standard Speedy Pro.And lastly, I want to thank my longtime FD for his persistence. He came through again as usual.
