Help with some information on a vintage Seamaster a buddy wants to sell me
Good morning everyone! I'm in need of a bit of help, I think I'd like to buy a vintage Omega Seamaster from a friend but I can't seem to google exactly the information I'm looking for to make a wise decision. It's running but of course not real well, and the face is pretty grungy. Well without further ado ... Here he is: I really like the watch. I'm assuming it's a calibre 354 and then the serial number will somehow date it. I'm used to Rolex, so much easier to date and research. I'll certainly get rid of the speidel band ..... lol, or does that make the watch? Thanks for any help I can get. I just love these old pieces. Needless to say: it was a moment in time. Platinum: 5098P Gondolo vs. 5196P Calatrava
I am interested in your comments and observations about these two platinum, manual wind PPs. I own a Rolex Yachtmaster Blue and want a PP to wear for business and formal occasions. I am a professional in early 50s. I am leaning towards the 5980P Gondolo due to dial face and rarity. I also like the story behind the Gondolo Club. Thanks,David
Why I love the 372
This pic pretty much explains it for me. Plexi, matte sandwich dial, gold hands, engraved text, polished 47mm case:Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I love my AD.
So, 2 weeks ago I walk into this new-to-me AD. I browse their selection and see wow, they have a sub date in stock. I ask if it's available and they say oh yes, we have two in stock. So I buy it. Even get 5% discount.Anyways, I ask, just out of curiosity, about the availability of a few other pieces that are hard to get. They say maybe they can surprise me.Two days ago I get the call, went to pick it up today. 5% discount again.
