How Is The iPhone 5 Like A Luxury Watch?
How is the iPhone 5 a lot like luxury watches? First, why compare the iPhone 5 to luxury watches? The iPhone has become the de facto phone of choice for people who can choose whatever phone they like. That doesn't necessarily mean they only have an iPhone, but it is uncommon to find consumers of high-end products who don't have an iPhone for daily use. No doubt Apple?achieved?this impressive market position with a slick user interface and useful product, but the design of the iPhone had a lot to do with it. Apple has succeeded where many others have not with a product that looks good to the eyes and feels good in the hands. It is also useful on a daily basis and tells people who see you with one a little bit about what your personality may be like. In a nutshell, the iPhone is a sexy tool - a concept invented by the watch industry. Let's see how Apple is following the lead of high-end watch makers when it came to designing and constructing the newest iPhone. The quality and construction
DeLaneau Rectangular Dome Green Sunrays Watch
Lovely isn't it? Too bad it is only for women. And if you are a woman, then too bad you most likely cannot afford it. This is one of DeLaneau's Rectangular Dome watches. Here in its "Green Sunrays" variant with a green jade and mother-of-pearl face. Movement is the DL 1608 automatic with jumping hours and jumping minutes. Think about the very small club of watches that offer that. Price is 125,000 Swiss Francs.See my full article on the DeLaneau Rectangular Dome Green Sunrays watch here at Haute Living.
Hautlence HL2 Watch Prototype
I can already tell that the Hautlence HL2 (HL2.0) watch is going to be one of my favorites of 2011. I learned about the piece sometime ago, and now we have images of an actual prototype. The thing works. Fellow watch lover and watch forum moderator Francois-Xavier Overstake had a wonderful opportunity to view (and play with) a prototype of the upcoming watch from the boutique Swiss brand. The hands-on pictures in this post are his, a link to his article is below. What is this thing? Only the latest and greatest machine that tells the time. Pardon the watch's unfinished stated. Though all the promise is there. This is a new step for Hautlence - who finally get their own movement. Interestingly enough if you compare the watch to their earlier models -the way of telling the time is 'thematically' the same. Meaning a retrograde minute hand (that is unique) as well as quasi-digital hour indicator. The HL2 is also the brand's first automatic movement, it also contains a power reserve indicato
Getting a Perpetual after an Annual ...
Does it make sense at all? Why would one do that aside from rounding up one's collection? And if it does make sense and was bought both to wear and for one's collection, which PC model appears to be more sensible and why?I welcome any inputs that may be shared by all. Once again, thanks in advance!
How to acquire a jubilee bracelet for my 16710?
Hi all, I have a D-serial (2005) no holes case 16710. Does anybody know the exact jubilee bracelet that was fitted for this model at the time? Correct me if I'm wrong, but my research shows me a 62510h, but there are so many different kinds. Is there a subset of letters I'm looking for such as RS7, K12 etc.? Was a jubilee bracelet available as an option in 2005/2006? I called in to RSC and they told me I couldn't get a jubilee bracelet because mine has the oyster bracelet currently on it, and it wasn't an option for D-serials. Were only certain bezel inserts fitted with the jubilee? For example, could I have purchased a Pepsi bezel with a jubilee in 2005/2006? If that's the case, I have all three bezel inserts if I need to swap out to thecorrect insert. I've called a few AD's and they said it's a trade out only policy at Rolex. Meaning, I would have to trade my perfectly fine oyster bracelet for a jubilee. I asked if I just sent the head in if I could purchase a jubilee, and they said
