New Manufacture Movement Powers Calibre de Cartier
At SIHH last week, Cartier introduced a new in-house automatic movement known as 1904-PS MC. It powers the new men’s Calibre de Cartier line. The movement features twin barrels to provide a steady flow of power to the escapement, and the regulation system allows for fine adjustment to increase timekeeping accuracy. A stop-seconds system facilitates synchronization to a reference signal. Cartier also paid close attention to the winding system. Ceramic ball bearings at the center of the rotor ensure excellent shock resistance and durability. Cartier abandoned reversers in favor of a pawl system to speed winding, and a bi-directional full-size rotor assures maximum winding efficiency. The movement measures 25.6mm in diameter and 4mm thick and it beats at 28.800 vph. The power reserve is 48 hours. The rotor and upper bridges are finished with traditional C?tes de Genve, and the main plate, which is hidden from view, is circular-grained.The Calibre de Cartier case measures 42mm in di
42mm ROO, black/red or slate grey?
Hey guys! With impending price increase I've decided to pull the trigger on a new ROO that I've been thinking about for some time. Having a tough time deciding between which of the two aforementioned models I should go for. I'd like to be able to wear either watch dressed up or casually. For those of you with the black/red, does the stitching on the strap stand out too much for a more formal business environment? I think the grey is really great to look at it but I wonder if that cool color will start to get plain after a few months. Any input and wristshots would be greatly appreciated!
AP price increase?
Just saw that the AP Diver (for example) has risen from it's previous price of 15.300 euro to 16.700 euro? This is at an online retailer. Anyone can confirm?

In honor my late father, my new Rolex
I'm not usually one who refers to certain Rolex watches by nicknames such as Hulk and Batman. But I now have a new piece in my collection that will proudly refer to as Kermit.I don't know why I didn't pursue one of these watches previously. I very much liked them but didn't see myself owning one. But after meeting a gentleman on a cruise ship recently who was wearing one and having a conversation about it and then also perusing the many photos on this forum and elsewhere for months, I decided I had to have one to join my GMT BLNR, Daytona Ceramic and SubC Date. So yesterday it arrived and I love it. I've had other Rolex watches come and go also, but this one shall not leave. So why does it honor my late father? Well, you see my father's name was Kermit. In fact, my middle name is also Kermit. So yes, this is definitely a watch I should own. It's an unusual name, yes, but a very personal name for me - not just a green muppets character. And when I wear it I will always think of
